let's not forget, Brokaw's opinion notwithstanding, that this is the celebration of the greatest generation. That gathering of founding fathers was truly the greatest gathering of men in the history of the world.

John Adams said we should remember this day with dancing partying and fireworks. The day when we lose our fervor for this land, our democratic experiment and our freedom we no longer deserve the greatness of those men and women. Enjoy, celebrate and remember those who started this and those who've helped preserve it.

Awesome smiley! Big news where I am is that the sheriff of Collier Co. cut off the fireworks display on Marco Island halfway through the performance and now the city council wants a refund. That and there is a black bear running wild somewhere in the neighborhood.

In the online Naples Daily News they showed a pic of a deputy with what looked like a Mossberg 12 guage pump. If I was a bear I'd probably laugh at whoever thought they could take me with that piece.
Speaking of black bears, the girlfriend and I went hiking up in the Smokies about 2 weeks ago. While on the trail, we rounded a curve and stood about 20-30 foot from a black bear. Good fun.
