You know I love ya hat, but now not only is Peyton Captain stats, he's also Super Bowl MVP. You were right, he got his chance to show everybody he could win the big game and came through. Oh yeah!!!

Wonder if Hat was at the game since it was in his place of residence? Don't worry, no more loyal UT supporter than HAT. If Peyton winning SB was good for the program, I'm sure he was glad.

It was good for the program that they were talking about his days at Tennessee and the Tennessee Florida match ups all week.

It was also good for Florida for that matter.

I'd be stunned if there is some high school QB out there who says "I want to go to the University of Tennessee so I can be like Peyton Manning and win the Super Bowl."

I don't know. I think that you can argue that it adds to the overall prestige factor...having representatives like Peyton...who have won it all..and as MVP. It may not necessarily help in recruiting directly....but it pads the prestige...which can help indirectly. But I agree, the direct help is a stretch.

Fair assesment.

I'm not saying it's good pub for QBs. I'm saying it's good pub for the University as a whole. If you want to be a champion in life, come on up to the hill. If you want to work non profit, go down to Gainesville....just kidding, UF is a great college. Just saying folks do recognize Peyton and UT because he was a TRUE household name in college.

I'll grant you that the Manning name is associated with UT right now and that it is a nice feather in your cap. But I think that this is more about Manning finally winning the big one for himself more than anything else.

Maybe; maybe not. But it is a pretty ringing endorsement for a guy like David Cutcliffe to be able to sit in a kid's living room and say "I made that guy. I can make you."

So if Grossman would have won it wouldn't have been good for florida Law?? His family member was on the pregame doing the "Gator Chomp" It still has positve effects. This will further the argument that the media loves Peyton, and Peyton loves UT!

Peyton is the most recognizable player, for his college he attended, than ANY other football player in the league right now. Playas know Peyton wore orange. No one cares Brady wore garnet and gold.
I thought Brady wore maize and blue. :whistling:

UT is not generally known as QB University.
