Appreciation thread: Kirkland was huge last night. He was all over the field and is really becoming a ball hawk and leader of this defense as a freshman.

Can't wait to see how well he developes in his role as the leader of the defense.

Super excited about his future here.

JRM has truly been a great mentor to him and exampled great leadership for Kirkland.

He is way ahead as a freshman. Remember how many plays AJ missed his first two years? Kirkland and Maybin together are awesome!

People who go to church need to pray that this kid stays injury free for the next 4 years. He could be one of the best LB's that ever played at UT and the SEC. He was very dominant last night.

His speed and aggressiveness reminds me of a player who I believe was named Tyrone Hines who played for Majors. He owned the field from sideline to sideline. But Kirkland is faster than Hines.

Developing into his "roll" is the yeast of his worries imo :)

Could end up being one the best if not the best linebacker in UT history if he stays healthy. Great athlete and supposedly he has a photographic memory.

kirk and jrm are incredible together. Only going to get better. Austin Smith even got in there on that goaline series where we took it to 4th down and Lock barely got in the endzone. Smith was in there on that series.

If buTch can talk Reeves-Maybin into staying for his Senior season then our LB corps will be special.

Kirkland can use another year of working with and learning from Reeves-Maybin as can all our guys.

Reeves-Maybin lives in the film room studying and making notes and that's a positive example all our younger players need to learn from.

I'm already excited about how good we'll be next season and it can't get here fast enough for me.
