Hate to be the bubble burster

Lmao one possession game? It was never in doubt ever. At no point did BG think they could win
I think it’s stupidly presumptuous to pretend to know what the BG players were thinking. As far as I could tell, they were commanding the second quarter going into halftime and kept it close enough for half of the game. That’s what the tape shows. You show me where on the tape BG let you know they never had a chance. You are wearing some big orange glasses, that’s for sure.

Lmao commanding the 2nd quarter. They didn’t even come close to a TD all game

He was never a starter at North Dakota State or Iowa State. Milton started several games at Michigan, I know the internet is hard lol
That’s just incorrect. Their grad assistant threw for 400 yards in a start against Oklahoma a couple years ago.

Bowling Green has now lost it's last 6 games by an average of 30 points+. I'm pretty sure a team of actual crack users would have a decent shot against them.
Did you go to MU game last night? Something was wrong with my espn+ account but I got it sorted out in time to stream D. Fromm playing QB. Would have been cool to score 70 but I am glad they took the knee at the end.

There was never a bubble. This team's goal should be to make a bowl game. The Pitt game is a huge game for their chances at doing that. You can't do what Tennessee has done over the last 15 years and expect much more..

Based off of your previous responses you have “watched” a lot of tape

14-6 game at the half. One possession. BG led in points scored, yards, and time of possession in the second quarter. You tell me where I’m missing something.

I don't know if we were "hiding" anything from Pitt or not but I feel like regardless, we should've big-boy'd that team last night more than we did. We definitely left points on the field due to QB/WR play.

Also on defense, we were stout against their running game but our lack of getting to the QB and creating turnovers against that team really concerns me. Also we still give up WAY too much passing yardage on slants and dump passes. It was infuriating at times seeing BG move the ball in the air between the 20's.

I think the frustration of giving up passing yards is a due to the old mentality. When you has a solid run game with some passing yards then you usually had decent offence.

Fastforward, most if not all teams are gonna nickel and dime passing yardage. Certain pass routes are almost undefendable if timed correctly and run without too much predictability. I think that in todays college football giving up passing yards is just part of the game.

Obviously, less yards is better than more yards.

Not gonna get all bent out of shape after last nights game, just a few observations. There were adjustments made at half time that pretty much shut Bowling Green down for the most part. As someone else noted, nice to see half time adjustments again. I know it was the first game and maybe Milton III had a case of the jitters, but if he doesn't show better against Pitt, I don't see him continuing to be QB1. I saw a QB that is not very mobile, seemed indecisive at times, and seemed to panic when the defense got close to him. Didn't get to see much of Hooker so can't speak to that, same with Bailey. The thing I remember from last year was that, as immobile as people seem to think Bailey is, he could feel the pressure and made some big runs after being forced out of the pocket. I still would like to at least see him run this offense for a few series and see what he can do. One thing I think, if Milton III doesn't improve in the next game, Heupel needs to unhook from that star. He does not need to be another Pruitt and keep trotting out the guy or VolNation will lose their patience pretty quickly.

Pruitt managed to lose a game to a team that until 2012 didn't exist, so i guess you have to keep it in perspective. They didn't look as sloppy as his teams, The penalties were down, they got lined up, and they tackled pretty well. I can't remember being able to say that about Tennessee in a long time. Yeah the QB isn't a guy that's going to win you a lot of games from the pocket i don't think, but it was game 1..

An excellent system just need better players to run it. A little surprised that Milton won the job even if he is a superior athlete he has a long way to go to be an effective passer. Seemed to have no field vision last night and held the ball way to long on way to many plays. He has no touch on the long ball and WR's running wide open he failed to see way to many times. Holding the ball like he did against better teams is going to get him some hits that he won't enjoy and expect some turnovers if it continues. He adds a dimension in the running game, but were not going to have much of a passing game with him unless we see some rapid progress.

I just don’t see it. Our running backs are great especially Evans performance. Allowed a 126 ranked out of 127 offense March down the field on us keep it close. Qb position IMO is wide open. I could almost see 2 qbs playing equal time next game.

They NEVER got into the red zone... haha

Pruitt’s first win at Tennessee was a 59-3 walloping on East Tennessee State. It takes some time for the wheels to fall off if they eventually will. As far as first impressions go for Heupel though, it was lackluster at best. One possession game at the half and couldn’t even hang 40 on maybe the worst team in the FBS. So much for explosive offense. Scoring 38 on Bama, Florida, or Georgia still isn’t going to win us the game.

He was the back up qb and filled in for a total one and a half games at ISU before transferring out. He has never been the starting qb in his 5 year career until now. Milton was the starter at Michigan for several games until he got hurt. Why is this difficult for you?

You should inform the coaches of this open QB position. They seem to have missed it.

It’s not really that much of a difference in terms of production. You can lie to yourself all the way home.

During the game they flashed a probable win graphic showing the Vols would likely win five. From what I saw, that seems optimistic. Hope I'm wrong.

I respect your opinions but to as I see it we got a qbs that you take the analogy of a pitcher with a great fast ball he just can’t throw a strike. Strong but slow. Alabama Georgia Florida can you imagine they’ll be in the background all day.
Not having time may be a good thing. Won't allow him to sit back there and try for the homerun every time and instead dump it off or hopefully run like he did when he stiff armed that guy to the ground instead of running and covering up scared to take a hit.

32 is apparently close now..

They didn’t score a single touchdown and has 215 yards of offense. The D did exactly what it was supposed to do.

Bring on Pitt.

East Tennessee State is an FCS team and it was not Pruitt’s first game, WVU was and they were beaten soundly. As far as the ETSU game, 14 of those points were scored by the defense. You need a break from the internet

I think Harrison Bailey needs to go in the portal and go somewhere he can start! Heupel has already shone that he is third string! Harrison is a talented kid that some other coach will appreciate!

I said it was Pruitt’s first win. Read it again. Nothing I’m saying is wrong. Heupel’s first win is no more impressive that Pruitt’s.
