Hate Speech

I am firm believer that it is the intent behind the words that matter. Trump meant it when he used it as a dig at the chinese. I didn't find it to be a dig at a race, but rather the government of a country. But there is no question that he meant it to be offensive. Even if it was meant to be racist, I believe he is well within his rights to spew racist rhetoric. There is a solution... vote him out.

For the government to censor the speech of its citizens through passing laws directed at particular words does not pass constitutional muster. You want free speech? Then you have to acknowledge and accept that another man has a right to speech that makes your blood boil. You have to accept that it is his right to claim a platform and espouse ideas that you find repulsive. That is free speech.

Totally agree. Once speech becomes a function of what is "approved" then that which is allowed is at the discretion of the gatekeepers. That is all kinds of bad mojo.

I've been against the wall as well. I think it's ultimately a waste of money. And I don't disagree with arresting the people that hire them, but that doesn't mean the illegal immigrants shouldn't be deported as well. If you want to be a U.S. citizen, I think you should respect our laws on what it takes to come here.

Right now, SOP is to fine the company force them to fire the illegals, but the illegals are not deported. They simply move on to the next employer. It is a money grab plain and simple. Nobody is serious about getting rid of illegals because we need them to do the jobs they are doing. It is just a hot button issue designed to stoke the flames of the electorate.

Now do Brown Sugar. I want to see the leftist virtue signalers' heads exploding or at least watch them scurry off to their safe spaces before melting.
So would a Lou Reed song (WOTWS) cause snowflake head explosions or would they want it to be the new national anthem?

Lola and Wild Side were the first two songs I ever heard about transvestites...come to think of it, they may be the only songs I've ever heard about transvestites.

1) we really don’t need them I agree the businesses exploit them and they in turn exploit resources and jobs that should be for American citizens
2) what makes me really mad about the lefts view on this isn’t the “hard workers” it’s the shielding sex offenders/rapists, sex/drug traffickers, gang members, mentally ill etc that they let in by thousands and then shield them from ICE and let them go to commit even more crimes

We do need them. The construction industry would be hugely impact if all of the illegals were instantly deported.

There are plenty of able bodied Americans that could do this. It would require construction to pay them more and carry insurance probably but so what

Bull$hit. Americans don't want to roof, frame, lay block or farm. If they did, there would not be a need for immigrant labor.

You can find Americans to do all of the above. You can't find Americans who are willing to pay what it would cost.

Handing an able bodied person a tool belt doesn't make them a construction worker. Also, most of the construction companies carry all the necessary insurance policies, pay the illegals solid wages and pay the necessary taxes required. Some provide medical insurance, as well.

False. The “need” for immigrant labor is because of three reasons

- the false narrative that everyone “needs and deserves” college or else they can’t make it
- the opioid crisis widening which made welfare fraud more likely along with taking a good portion of able bodied workers from job searches (unable to ever pass drug test)
- illegals will work for very cheap labor with no expectations about schedule, insurance, perks, licenses, etc. if you ended this practice (really crackdown) by companies who hired them, they would be forced to pay decent wages to actual americans

No they don’t. In fact most encourage illegals to use false and other people’s social security numbers for their paperwork. There is no way that all involved shouldn’t be punished for this

Illegals are working for cheaper wages in the construction industry. Companies have them on the same pay scale as all other employees. $22.00/hr to roof. I have had more than one owner tell me that he was done hiring americans because they were unskilled, lazy and called out. They actively seek out hispanics. Not illegals per se, but hispanics in general

Surprisingly most do. Nobody down here wants to run afoul of workers comp. Their investigators don't care if your illegal, only if you are on payroll and covered by workers comp insurance.

Yes and? They could find Americans that would work just as hard but it would cost $30+ an hour.

I think we need to make the guest (migrant) worker program easier for people/employers to participate in while reducing our social welfare for citizens. Work or starve.

Americans are working for the same wages. Companies don't want them and it is not about money.

Yeah, that will last until the destitute line the streets begging for money in your neighborhood.

Wrong. Americans do not want to work hard for low wages. All of the construction jobs I mentioned with the exception of brick laying don't pay well and never have paid well.
