Haslams are the Cancer.

Have any of you actually graduated from UT? Was anyone in attendance when Glocker became the Haslam College of Business? How do you think that state of the art building was paid for? I agree they need to back off from making unilateral decisions on the football program but they’ve done a lot of good for the academic side of UT.

Maybe they should stick to what they know best, which obviously isn't football.

Anybody up to paint the rock with a message saying something to the effect of "Haslams no longer welcome"?

It really amazes me how nieve some of our fans are. I really hate saying that cause I love our fan base! But the truth is and has been for years that he Haslam Family runs everything at UT.

Blackburn was the run away choice for AD the reason he wasn’t hired is because he’s not a puppet and yes man.

Currie was hired and on paper sure looked like a decent hire. But he’s proven to be the yes man. Is Currie at fault in this yes but only because he’s spineless and let’s them use him as a shield. He’s definitely not blameless but the real problem is the Haslams.

If you don’t see that then your blind. It’s sadly been the case for too long!

I think their money should be like my money. Given to better the place, but not to call the shots.
To get rid of the Haslams influence on the AD, someone has to have the cojones to tell them, we are going to do it our way, and we don't need your money if you insist picking coaches.

I'm not so convinced that the administration would do the right thing even in Haslam bowed out. People who understand football are not in the decision making process.

Saban was able to tell the Bear holdovers to go pound sand. UT needs to get rid of the SJW's over the football foodchain. A good chancellor wouldn't have let this thing go down like it did.

Again. Buck stops at AD's desk. Haslams have given millions of dollars to UT. They have invested a lot of resources into our program. They are good people.

I get it. Your mad. I am too. I'm just directing my frustration at the person who in reality is actually in charge: John Currie. He's shown that he is in way over his head and disdains TN fans/alumni. This whole thing is on him.

Hey Jimmy Jr., don't you have some Cleveland Browns firing and hiring to attend to? I hear Schiano is available!!! Or better yet, don't you have another criminal fraud scheme to oversee with your executive team? Given all that work to be done, you really don't have time to be PR posting on message boards.

It's not all the Haslam's, just one - Jimmy!

Fair points everyone. I apologize, did not mean to come off as condescending to non-alum fans. I agree the Haslams have overreached into the athletic side and flexed their muscle to make decisions detrimental to the program. I’ve just seen some posts saying to get rid of their influence on campus altogether, which would really hurt. I’ve always hated the concept of “he who pays the piper calls the tune”, and i think the coaching decisions should be left to the college football professionals, not the Haslams. Stick to what you’re good at, giving money to build campus buildings and funding scholarships.

We all know the Haslam's donate a lot of money to the university, but how much is it costing us? Even without their 5-10M per year (just guessing) we'd still be raking in around 100M. Is this so deep no one can or will tell him no? Our football team has been held hostage for the better part of the last decade, by one family...........

I let my 4 season tickets go last year and when Zach at the ticket office asked me why, I told them it was because they hired Currie. After getting over my "mad spell" I gave him the benefit of the doubt and would have likely picked them back up with a competent hire. Now, there is NO chance that happens as long as he is there. Totally inept in every way.
