Haslams are the Cancer.

Again. Buck stops at AD's desk. Haslams have given millions of dollars to UT. They have invested a lot of resources into our program. They are good people.

I get it. Your mad. I am too. I'm just directing my frustration at the person who in reality is actually in charge: John Currie. He's shown that he is in way over his head and disdains TN fans/alumni. This whole thing is on him.

No... No they aren't. They have run Tennessee into the ground. Haslam is the common link among UT, Currie, the browns
And schiano

Someone needs to start a go fund me so we can put up a billboard that reads

DEAR HASLAM FAMILY,
GET YOUR HANDS OFF OUR FOOTBALL PROGRAM.
SINCERELY,
VOLNATION

Currie has just created the worst possible dumpster fire of a move he could. This is a potential career killer for the hapless, needle nosed wanna be.

If this really was/is a Haslam power move...then Currie needs to save himself and expose them.

This fiasco is 100% on John Currie. Not the Haslams. Sorry.

Did you not read the Chris Landry tweet? He's reporting that Jimmy Haslam personally pushed Schiano as the choice on the rest of the committee. Can you imagine Currie having the guts to stand up to that a-hole who thinks he owns this campus?

I hear you. Of course the Haslams knew about it. Most major donors did probably know.

But demonizing the Haslams is a false narrative. If you were "power hungry," would your target of manipulation be a public university full of 18-22 year olds? No. That's just dumb. They have made massive investments into UTK, not to control a student body of young adults, but to give back to their community. As an alumni, I'm extremely appreciative.

I'm pissed about this, but we need to direct it at Davenport and most importantly, Currie.
And the Haslam pr department with a low post count is in the building!

Is that you John?

Mess what up? Fans are revolting because the administration has been messing things up for too long with zero prospects of improving. The focus on Schiano, with no real search in place, proves that the admin was about to mess things up again. Fans are messing things up? Fans are demanding change.

Anybody that truly believes Currie isn’t just following Haslams lead is just foolish. Nothing else can be said.

Have any of you actually graduated from UT? Was anyone in attendance when Glocker became the Haslam College of Business? How do you think that state of the art building was paid for? I agree they need to back off from making unilateral decisions on the football program but they’ve done a lot of good for the academic side of UT.

How much damage and how many millions have they cost UT?

This is a football forum for discussion about football. A lot of people graduated from UT that are in these forums. That includes me. There are other people here who are fans by birth or by their own choice, by their own personal discovery about our beloved university, or marrying into the Vol family. Maybe there are parents of graduates here who love the Vols. Maybe some of these people worked for the school. Whether someone graduated from UT doesn’t matter atl. We are all fans, we are united by a common love of UT, and we are here talking about Vol football, not academics. We don’t need condescending attitudes about our fans who are clearly and rightfully angry about the administration’s coaching “search” that wasn’t really a search at all. There are people using their money to influence Vol athletics who need to recognize their shortcomings in that area. The fans have had enough and are revolting because of it.
