Haslam And Manning Hold All The Votes For AD

The Browns have a long history of ruining the careers of good college QBs. I know Manziel had personal issues but what about Tim Couch, Charlie Frye, Brady Quinn, Colt McCoy, and Brandon Weeded?

They've had 26 QBs since they reformed in 1999. You'd thing one or two of them would have stuck. That's not a problem with the players it's a problem with the organization.

Or maybe it's the coaching?

"Haslam And Manning Hold All The Votes For AD"

The OP stated the above and I have no idea if it is true or not. But, there is a person with veto power and that is the new Chancellor. She will not allow anyone with a hint of any taint. Not on her watch!

She will not want to be another Baylor. BTW, did you see the new allegations against Baylor today! They will be digging out of this for a decade!

The two situations are not even remotely similar. We were the Browns under Dooley. We are now the Chiefs under Butch. Would like to become the Patriots.....

The Chiefs won their division, UT has yet to win the East at its weakest in 10 years. Not the same at all. The corolation in my statement is that big booster ego and constant interfering has caused a lot of the problems. That same I know what's best ego hasn't done much for the Browns so far. Hamilton was put in place by the boosters because he was easy to control. Look where that got us.

why is there a committee anyway ?

I personally don't care much about there opinions or whatever there suppose to be doing

it seems like a push to get Fulmer involved some way or the other by the boosters, like they have been good at anything, since they fired Coach Fulmer :)

Hyams just said he didn't think Fulmer was in play when the AD search started but now thinks he will get the job.

Try this...the guy (Jimmy Haslam) you reference in the link isn't the same person as the guy referenced in the thread title.

Yes he is, Daddy Haslam is not on the damn committee. The owner of the browns is. Look it up tard.

Here's a look at the search committee set up to assist Tennessee Chancellor-Elect Beverly Davenport in the search for the university’s next athletic director:

Charlie Anderson: A member of the board of trustees, Anderson was a defensive end for the Vols from 1974-76. The CEO of Anderson Media Corp. was on the search committee for the new chancellor. The $45 million Anderson Training Center opened in 2013 was named in honor of his family.

UT hires firm for AD search, announces search committee members
Donald Bruce: Bruce serves as UT's faculty athletics representative to the NCAA and SEC. He is the Douglas and Brenda Horne Professor of Business in the Haslam College of Business with a joint appointment in the Department of Economics and the Boyd Center for Business and Economic Research.

Jimmy Haslam: The UT graduate is CEO of Knoxville-based Pilot Flying J and bought the NFL's Cleveland Browns in 2012 for $1 billion. He is the son of longtime UT booster and Pilot founder Jim Haslam and the brother of Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam.

Raja Jubran: The UT graduate and Denark Construction CEO is vice chair of the board of trustees. He was appointed by Davenport to chair the committee.

Peyton Manning: The most recognized athlete in the history of UT sports. The former UT quarterback retired from the NFL in 2016 after 18 seasons. The five-time MVP helped the Denver Broncos and Indianapolis Colts to victories in the Super Bowl. The No. 1 pick in the 1998 NFL draft was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame earlier this month. In the past decade, the PeyBack Foundation has distributed more than $800,000 to myriad youth-based organizations in East Tennessee.

Donna Thomas: With more than 25 years with the athletic department, Thomas' first job at UT was as undergraduate head manager of the Lady Vols basketball team under Pat Summitt from 1978-82 while working toward her bachelor's degree. Thomas now holds the position of senior associate athletics director and senior woman administrator for AD Dave Hart's executive athletics staff.

In the eyes of the athletic department the Chancellor is probably more of a ceremonial head.

What is the holdup on this selection process???????

Hart's retirement doesn't officially happen until June so they probably figure why rush it? He is still officially the AD.
