I am not defending Trump....i am saying your memory has a lot of spots or else you aren't familiar with American History...where people in the 1800s ran articles about Presidents sleeping around, "committing treason", FDR knew Pearl Harbor was coming and is a treasonous traitor who sleeps with his cousin, Barry Goldwater wants to destroy the world, JFK was a commie traitor, Nixon was a crook who threatened democracy, Reagan wanted to destroy the world, kill gays and blacks...Clinton speaks for himself, Dole and McCain and Romney hated women and blacks and only cared about rich people and wanted your poor old grandmother to eat cat food, Obama was a terrorist, Biden and Hillary said basket of deplorables and that Trump was a fascist nazi who wanted to destroy democracy, and on and on and on

Not to mention ACTUAL assassination attempts through the decades by crazies, and communists and black panthers and PR Independence nutjobs on Congressman, podcasters, presidents, and historic buildings.

This didn't start or end with Trump

You are not having the same conversation that we are having. I mocked you by saying that you view any kind of opposition as "nasty," and then you went on to prove my point. We're talking about nasty/hate speech and you're talking about coverage of affairs, and Nixon breaking the law. Must've been hard to live with all that divisiveness. Press probably should've looked the other way on that stuff, so as to not divide the country.

The divisiveness was with us from the beginning, from Europeans against First Nations and Africans. There's been plenty of assiciated actual violence ever since, and a whole lot of that wasn't from the fringe. The big share of divisiveness and violence in the 60's came from those who wanted to maintain division and their place on top.

If you’re referring to him being raised in the LDS Church, then you are completely wrong. Most members from my experience don’t have that mindset you mentioned at all.

No i am referring to his trying to be obstinate and edgy to religion because he grew up in a cult...

His has some past remarks about Jesus that show his disdain for religion but yet like Woods wants to "hide behind it" quoting what people should do by Scripture even though he has no belief in it
