Hes a bust. Im sure Jones is working on his release papers as we speak.
Im guessing Vol State CC. Thats close to home.

Not as nuts as it may sound. Malone is more polished at WR than North was at this point in his freshman season. North was a QB in highschool while Malone had more opportunities to be polished at the WR position. North looked more comfortable at WR as the season went along.

Someone that knows football. ..finally

Seems like we have not heard Malone's name mentioned much here the past week. For him to have had standing about like Hurd coming to the program and with a great spring practice, seems like he's disappeared when people are discussing WR play this camp. Anybody noticed this or is Malone on a cycle with North perhaps?

He's gonna be just fine, we don't need any negative comments about our true freshman stud wide-out, damn sure don't need to lose him to a possible transfer, so lets continue support our young warrior #3!

If he stays healthy Malone might be one of the best WR's to ever wear the Orange and White...The kid is that good.
Stanley? Curtis? Etc etc etc that's a bold statement, hope you're correct!

Supposedly WR is (after QB) the hardest position to master in this offense. Malone is having the same first year struggles we say from guys like North last year in adjusting to the speed and getting the offense down.

He'll be fine. It just maybe be a few games in before he puts it all together (something none of our guys really did last year though North was coming close to it).

Lets all chill and remember he is a young man, and has a butt load of talent all around him. He is damn good, and we all should be very proud to have each and everyone of these gents at Kville. Stop the negative, promote positive and we will rule the mountain again. Right popcorn.:ill_h4h:

I would honestly be a little worried about Malone if he hadn't balled out in the spring game. My gut feel is that the coaches are being extremely hard/demanding on him because they know how much potential he has.

It could very well be. That said, did not hear or see a player or coach mention his name or quality of play after the scrimmage ... it's like he was sitting beside North on a cycle .. not saying he was, just saying he may as well have been from the comments of people who participated.

You're right, I responded before first cup of coffee, it's CARL Pickens rather! Of course, Richmond, Larry, and Willie need to be there as well. My favorite All Time UT wideout is a tie between Richmond Flowers and Stanley Morgan.

For a receiver to stand out you have to get the ball to him first! WR>QB This might be part of the problem.

I seen this kid play. . No knock on North but he is not a true receiver. ..Malone has great hands great route running. . Just wait.

Dude! If you were 1% correct in this analysis, then Josh Malone wins every vote for the heisman this year.

One encouraging aspect of not hearing much about Josh Malone is... The Vols must have some DB's who can cover a big, fast receiver. We haven't heard much about any of the receivers... to include Von Pearson... during fall camp.

Could it be due to the arrival of some help at DB, during the summer?

Malone and VP lit up the "old guard" during spring ball. Now, a practice observer friend of mine is telling me that the new receivers are looking a bit stymied... as if it were their first taste of going against an SEC caliber secondary.

Now... I kind of like this situation. We will probably hear more buzz about the receivers, as camp goes on, but I like the fact that these stud receivers aren't looking so "studly," now that the newcomers on defense have shown up.

The way it stands right now Malone is second string behind North, and Smith. The way the WR coach was praising Smith I am hoping that he is gonna be all SEC this season.

Awesome WR's.

My favorates would be Kent and Fleming.
