They are not allowed to talk to the media or w/e now. Saban rule. Don't know what we gain from this maybe more time to focus on recruiting.

"Too busy" may be the reason given. But my guess is:
a. one voice - distractions caused by either a slip of the tongue by an asst, or actual friction in the ranks could be avoided by just hearing the party line from the head coach.
b. CDD is a lawyer, and head coach, so its in his best career interests to speak for all of his peeps.
And I don't really think he cares how you or the press view this rule.
All that other stuff was nice (the assts on the coaches show, etc), but however he accomplishes it, winning with class is the only thing I care about from CDD.
I believe reason A is correct but it seems ridiculous that he doesn't trust his assistants any more than this.
I have no idea what you mean by reason B unless you're saying he's a control freak. That is what I always assumed about Saban when I heard this rule.
Maybe it doesn't matter what we think but the question is how do his assistants view it? Saban is notorious for burning through assistants and shutting them off from the media (his players are allowed to talk the media btw, except freshman) may not help.
BTW, wouldn't this have been an awesome rule for Kiffin to have implemented. He could tell the assistants that no one makes an a@@ of themselves in front of the media but me.
I think CDD wants all the focus on the program and not on the coaches like Kiffin and Special Ed
