I think you misunderstood what his point was, but then you alluded to it at the very end of your post. Our defense works. Our offense works too. The issue is the talent pool. All this bitc$ing reminds me of everyone complaning about Butch's offense. Then, Dobbs comes in and everyone gets right back on the Orange train. You have to have talent that fits your scheme to win. We don't have that currently. I'm not trying to beat a dead horse, but this is one of the worst shooting teams I've ever seen throughout the course of a season. I mean we are a very, very, very poor shooting team as a whole, especially from three.

to up their conditioning for the stretch run, they need to do some more of that drill where squat and put like 800lbs on their junk...

No the team hasn't quit just the fair weather fans. This has been said many times. There is no depth. The guys have no relief. They are practicing everyday and playing twice per week. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that these guys are tired and out of gas.

The fake fans gave out long before the team. Some of Y'all are irrational, delusional and very inconsiderate. SMH

I think this team is exhausted mentally and defensively over the last couple of games, they have gone up against hot shooting ball clubs in Vanderbilt and Florida.

It didn't help that we lost Woodson and McGhee right off the bat, and then Chiles couldn't stay healthy.

We really needed your boy McGhee. It was very clear right off the bat that he was the most ready of the three freshman post. TO needed a redshirt year, and Willie gets lost a lot. Losing McGhee hurt really bad due to our lack of depth.

Some how we have to find some shooters and a PG. Our post situation will be fine if our freshman develop, which they should...

The bashing of Tyndall and the team isn't warranted. This was bound to happen. We don't have all the pieces to the puzzle, and most our freshman shouldn't even be playing. Is what it is...

To be fair, there's A lot of us on here who have been Vol fans before you were born and before Auntie started following the Vols. It'd ok to be critical. It's a message board. No one is getting hurt by giving their opinions. You can still be a vol fan and question the team or coach

I agree, but I get why a family member would take offense to the bashing. However, most people saying the talent pool isn't there, etc aren't saying our current guys suck, it just simply means we lack a few cards to the deck. Most these freshman needed a year to learn basketball and get bigger. We don't have a true PG to help generate an offense. We have no pure shooters. It's just where we are right now. What I disagree on is that Tyndall has other options. Our two best players are done. Moore and Josh have nothing left in the tank. It's just a really bad situation depth and talent wise right now. Our bench doesn't have all the right pieces, and our young guys aren't ready yet. Life goes on...

I was also entirely unimpressed with the hire. Shows no ambition whatsoever for an athletic department with our revenue and a program with an arena the size of TBA. As a tactical coach he is decent but is doing absolutely woeful in recruiting. I don't see us ever being much more than scrappy under CDT.

Donnie and Dooley couldn't be more different. Dooley only won one SEC game in his last 15. CDT was 56-17 at Southern Miss. Dooley was 17-20 at LA Tech.

I question the coach and team but to be downright disgraceful to them is just wel...petty imo

Florida may have figured out the defense in the 2nd half, but they still lost it, 27-26. The defense worked bc fla could not get as many open shots!

I'm sorry. I know you have a personal connection but there are lot of people that post in here that have been Vol fans forever. You've been a Vol fan since April. If Jabari transferred to another school you would most likely not give a damn about Tennessee ever again.

No offense but the fair weather excuse isn't fair or correct.

Oh excuse me sir, it is very fair and quite correct. First, I never said ALL VOLS were fair weather Vols. Let's clear that up. Maybe you need to retread my post.

I know There are plenty of true Vols, but that are a hell of a lot of Vols that were high on this team when they were winning but now...they talk about the team, players and coach like dogs.

Regardless of how long I've been posting it doesn't take long to figure out your fair weather Vols. It is what it is. They are for the team and coach as long as they are winning and hate your guts when you're losing.

And you're absolutely right, I will follow Jabari wherever he goes. He is my only connection here. That what REAL family does. If he stays, I'll fight like hell for the vols win, lose, or draw. What would you do?

That was senseless for you to even to make that statement about my connection here. Josh's parents and any other of the Vols family would follow their child. Look at Phil Cofer. His dad played ball at Tennessee. Have you seen hiim at any TN basketball games? No...he's moved on and following his son....Duh:blink:

I think some of you may have to step away from Volnation until the season ends because this losing issue isn't going to get any better. I won't be shocked if we lose out. We are so fatigued that I'm beginning to worry about Moore and Josh's health. Josh has a basketball future, and if this ship continues down the losing path Tyndall may want to think about resting him and allowing Punter/Hubbs/Mostella a chance to run point. It'll be ugly, but next year that's what we are looking at unless we land a PG.

Of course teams have figured out Tyndall... I figured him out the first five mins of the first game we played. Our system is, Josh/Moore creates our offense, our defense causes turnovers for easy points, we give the three up because we are so small we have to pack our zone, and we are going to hustle. That's all we can do. All you yelling for a change please let us all know what should be done... Our zone is a man to man match up zone. Our issue comes from having no rim protectors which means we have to double up on pentration. That leaves guys on the outside wide open. When you have shot blockers you don't have to play that way, but we don't. So, we give up 20 ft threes instead of two foot layups. Our other issue is Josh has lost it due to fatigue. He can't stop guards from penetrating our zone and it's getting us lite up. That's what happens when you play a guy 37+ mins a night...

You would think a lot of these guys who never care about basketball whether we're winning big time are losing big-time would keep their mouth shut and not reveal how little they know about the game..,, you explained it about as well as it can be explained most people I run with understand this exactly the way you just described..,,THANK YOU!!

This team was never going to compete with the upper echelon teams. I think the coaching staff has done the most with what they have. The truly sad part is, I think the team will be less capable next season. Unless the staff pulls of a Buth Jones and gets some top Freshmen and/or JUCO players to commit, I don't see how they can compete.

If you believe the team is more talented than they have played this season, then that is pretty tough critique on the coaches. If you believe the coaches are getting the most out of the players, then they will need some serious talent upgrade to compete next season. So far, that doesn't seem to be the case.

Either way, season tickets should be be more affordable!

I think she hit the nail on the head. What the hell does it matter if she just became a UT fan? You can make that assumption without having any ties to the university by just reading the outlandish comments. There are a ton of fair weather fans on here. Not to mention fans that have absolutely no clue.
