Has Peyton Manning chimed in on the Heupel hire yet?

Don’t remember him being negative on Pruitt. He doesn’t cast himself as a Haynesworth. If this one doesn’t work out, the usual suspects will say he participated in an Omerta ceremony with Heupel. 😎

I know Heupel said he spoke to him on the phone before the press conference. Haven't heard Peyton make any public comments though.

True...doesn't matter either way. He's already been hired. His opinion isn't going to change it at the moment.

I get it...I love Peyton as much as the next Vol fan and really truly do respect and honor him for what he did for this school and still does for this program.

But, taking the peanut out of the shell here - why does everyone value the opinion so much of a guy that has never coached, never mentored (to my knowledge), never recruited, or ever ran a sports organization regarding the HC at Tennessee?

I mean seriously, we aren't all tripping over each other to find out Al Wilson's opinion, or Condredge Holloway's opinion, or Schuler's, Colquitt's, etc. etc. etc....you see my point?

I couldn’t care less what Peyton thinks because we could’ve hired Randy sanders and he would’ve said it was the best hire for Tennessee. It just comes with the territory.

No he didn’t. You literally just made that ish up in your peebrain head
Yes. He did. It just so happened to not be here. But that doesn't have quite the same effect.

Peyton Manning recommended Adam Gase to Jets

I'm sorry. Peyton was a great player. Sucks at recommending coaches. Fulmer was at one time a great coach. Sucks at being an AD. Etc etc etc.

Santa Claus isn't real and VFLs are just people with flaws like everyone else. Hate to break it to you. Peyton recommending the worst coach in NFL history is reason enough to not care who he wants to hire... If not outright avoid who he wants to hire.
