Has Lane Kiffin already beaten Urban Meyer?

By the way, where are all the Gator comments about the "Gradulation" speech....Haven't been able to find anyone from the Sunshine State commenting on that...Oh, LG, any comments??????That woman's butchering of the English language has to be the most embarrassing example of human speech ever recorded - and to think that it was praising the mighty Gators and embarrassed their whole fan base....Talk about ignorance personified - suppose that she had been praising the Vols...We would have never have heard the end of it from Gator fans!!!!

Are you referring to Corrine Brown? If so, you did not look very hard because I specifically noted on the board that she's not well respected by anyone down here.

Does anyone know when all this florida whining and complaining about kiffin will die down? I'm getting tired of it.

If the Heisman goes to either the player with the best individual performance, or the player that meant the most to whatever success his team might have had, you are simply certifiably nuts.

Yeah, because Tebow and the Gators just had all kinds of success in 2007. Manning breaking passing records of the last SEC QB to win the Heisman was obviously noncontributory to the Vols winning the SEC. But the Gators losing to every decent team they played was really impressive.

Both players are very well respected. Manning has been nothing but an outstanding person and player in his time for UT and the pros. Tebow is a great college player and a genuine person who tells what's on his heart. He can't help if the media blows him way out of proportion. He uses football recognition as a pedastal for the world to see his faith, and they're seeing. Both players put their pants on one leg at a time but each are great at what they do/how they do it. Both have taken their talents to the next level and transformed the QB position. I will say that I would rather have Tebow than Manning at QB, but I would rather have Al Wilson than anyone on D ever, in college of course.

I would only take Tim Tebow over Manning if Urban Meyer was the head coach. He is great in the spread, but he is not a drop back pro-style quarterback. He fits a certain scheme perfectly in the college ranks which will NOT translate well in the NFL. You have guys bigger and stronger and faster than TT facing you every Sunday. He will get injured (already been injured) in the NFL.

There are certain offenses that do well in college, but don't do well in the NFL. Option, spread option, fun and gun to name a few. Defenses in the NFL are just too good and too fast to do those types plays in the pros. Sorry Timmy, enjoy college while it lasts.

I was wondering what everyones opinion is?

What if we beat Florida? (small chance but....)

Do we all of a sudden become media darlings and the 99% of the people who hate on us now start going back on what they said?

Also, if we were to beat Florida what ranking would we get? I don't expect to be ranked when we play so if we did beat them would jump into the top 25, top 20, or even better?

I am not saying that Manning will not have the better pro career, it sure seems like he will. Hard to see Tebow being competitive with him at that level. In that respect, I think it could also be said that Manning is the more pure prototypical passing QB. Not disagreeing with any of that.

Just saying that, in terms of success at the college level, Tebow has him beat.

Absolutely agree with this. I love PM, but to me, in terms of COLLEGE success....it isnt even a valid argument. Tebow has accomplished basically everything possible in a collegiate career, and all by his Junior year.

I sure as heck dont "like" UF, but I respect the hell out of their program and what UM has built down there. I dont get all the people that hate on Tebow....it is just jelousy, plain and simple. He is a model player, teammate and person. I can only hope UT gets a QB 3/4 as good as him in the future. When he goes to the NFL, I will definitely be one of the people rooting for him to get a shot at QB and succeed. All this talk of him going to the NFL as a FB or TE seems ludicrous to me. He was born to be a QB and a leader. I hope my 49ers end up with him!

You got me curious for a side by side comparison:
Tebow
Career record as starter: 22-5 (.815)
National Titles: we'll say 1.5 since he contributed but didn't start
SEC Titles: 1.5
1 Heisman
Passing Stats: 66% comp, 6,390 yards, 67 TDs and 11 picks
Rushing Stats: 2037 yards, 4.3 per carry, 43 TDs

Manning:
Career record as starter: 39-6 (.867)
National Titles: 0
SEC Titles: 1
Passing Stats: 63% comp, 11,201 yards, 90 TDs and 33 picks
Rushing Stats: I don't want to talk about it

I may be a little off on Tebow's record as a starter. I just added UF's record the last 2 years so I didn't known if he missed any games or started any games as a freshman.

Manning's numbers and career record as a starter hold up really well but obviously not winning any national titles and only 1 SEC title hurts him (and losing all 3 starts against UF).

the bootleg???lol
