that his players can't cash? All of this mouthing off about other SEC coaches is fine if you can back it up. So far he hasn't,and he's gonna look like a fool next week in Gainesville. The publicity he's gotten for UT has been mostly negative. I'm not a fan of Meyer and Saban but at least these guys are winners. He should show some respect.

Take your beatings and make your hitlist for when we have better quarterbacks.

The man has written no checks.

Kiff never said we would win next week. He said we would be good when we get good. The man has his work cut out for him in that endeavor, and I believe him when he says no staff in the country will outwork UT's.

In that regard, I believe he can and will back it up.

Uhhhh, yes he did say they would beat Florida, and sing Rocky Top all night long after doing so. 34 year old bravado at its best. That's what I call writing checks your players can't cash.

That said, I think he knew they couldn't, but did it anyway I guess to make some noise. Still can't figure out why he went after Urban though. That made it personal, and a reckoning for such is coming in less than a week. This one's on him.

Have you been living in a hole? There are videos everywhere of him saying exactly that. In fact ESPN played one during the game yesterday.

Just to clarify.. In his opening speech when he said he's looking forward to singing rocky top all night after winning in the swamp, he DID say next year at the end.

He won't beat Florida as long as meyer is there

I cant put this one on CLK, there isnt much you can do with the qb quality we have. At the presser announces his hiring when he said "singing Rocky Top all night after we beat florida next year, its gonna be a blast". He was just trying to get fans pumped up and to breath life into a dead program. I think he has succeeded, he has got the fans back into it, and brought the program back to life. we have to give it time.

The checks are still written to the warden for bringing in his criminals and destroying the program. We are left holding the bag while he sits back in luxury. It will take a while with untold amounts of work to get us out of the hole we are in.

he WILL beat Florida while Meyer is there, just have to be patient, you can't turn a program around in one off-season.

It's embarrassing to read some of the posts above.

Yes, Kiffin did say he would enjoy singing Rocky Top all night long after beating UF at The Swamp.

Then, right after that, he did say something to the effect of, "Just kidding Urban, Mike Hamilton made me say that."

a Kiffin led Vols team will never, i repeat, never beat Urban Meyer in the swamp. Urban will be the HC @ Notre Dame after this season, mark it down.

What comes out of your mouth you are responsible for. Imus can't say someone told him to say it right after referring to those girls as "nappy headed hoes". He said it. In this case, Kiffin said it. In front of cameras, into a microphone. His mouth moved, the words came out. No amount of rebuttal changes him saying it.

Can't rob a bank and then say "Mike told me to do it."

As a coach Lame cant hold Rick Neuheisel jock strap...as a matter of fact he cant hold anyones! He has done and won NOTHING!!!!!!

I take a vote to kick some of you out as Vol fans.

You shouldn't be allowed to cheer the Vols. Hell, some don't even know what he said at the actual hiring press conference, start maybe the dumbest thread I've seen in a while,asking if CLK wrote checks his team can't cash?

Stephens isn't the answer either I don't think. CLK was left with this mess.
If you can't tell this is a better team, then you're delusional. They run the ball better,they play defense better, they are better in special teams. They just didn't get better at QB. As much as everyone wanted to believe after WKU, I think we all know now
