Has Coach Azzanni earned our respect back yet?

Just curious to see if anyone on here believes that Azzanni should still be fired or given another chance considering our WRs have improved this season so far? Malone and Jennings are balling out so there's no question that some credit has to be given to Azzanni right? IMO if our WRs continue to progress like they have these last couple of games, I think he deserves to stay.

For some, he was always respected. I cannot do his job, nor do it better, nor claim with any expertise that anyone in a similar coaching position was an upgrade, regardless of how many VN posts that I read. Heck, I even slept in a Holiday Inn express once and I was not an expert the next morning.

Sorry but I'm going to have to see a little more before I eat crow on Azzanni. When we get consistency out of our receivers I'll eat it.

Not yet but the optimism is there with the way Malone and Jennings have performed. Once we get through this 4 game stretch you will have my answer.

And PW needs to flip the switch at some point. Way too talented to not be a factor.

Was a heck of a rebound in the 2nd half.

This is only tough love but there's some kind of rule and drill, "If it hits your hands you have to catch it."

If that is truly being drilled that way where there is an actual consequence for dropping catchable balls, extra lap or benched, etc. then there may be enough motivation for some real improvement in the form of consistency.

But, the bright spot is hopefully we won't see those kinds of drops like as many as in the first half vs. FL and we'll see the 2nd half vs. FL Vols from all the receivers from here on out.

Hopefully, it's understood it's only constructive intent, but others who wouldn't say it probably thought it. Let's address it, deal with it in a way that solves the problem (if it hasn't already) and then it's behind us.

Did anyone ever confirm or deny that he was pouting after the Fl game over playing time? Doesent seem like the kid to do it with all his talent.

I do agree though. With the right mindset he could follow in Malone footsteps. Malone has really surprised me this season with his game. Hes really got a chance to do something special at UT. Hopefully he gets a few more TDs Saturday and stays on pace to get close to the record this season.

Call me what you will but I really thought Josh Smith would show up before now but it seems hes got the drops again. Wheres the Smith that showed up during the Georgia game last season?

Its a long season and we are only third of the way through it.

But, for now the receivers are much improved from last year.

Let's hope he can talk Tee Higgins out of his commitment to Clemson.

If he signs Higgins and the receivers continue their improvement then yes has has earned my respect.

Jennings has had one good game. Love his ability, but let's pump the brakes saying he's "balling out"

Malone has been our most deadly threat since game one. So I don't know where you guys are getting this "flipped a switch" stuff on him. I just want to see some consistency. That's all I want. It might have something to do with the O line problems, or it might have to do with Dobbs being accurate with his throws about 75% of the time. I don't know, but I want consistency between these receivers and the QB. I will Produce a specific thread devoted to eating crow on azzanni, and I will do my best to apologize for my ignorance if I see it. Our receivers have been inconsistent since he got here TBH frank. I like the guy, I think he has done everything right, but I want consistency if we are going all the way.

Malone worked his butt off in the offseason. My mom knows his family, and they told her that he went to several camps and individual training sessions.

To my knowledge he hasn't really done much until now to start the season and start catching TDs since opening weekend is what I call flipping the switch.
