Has Butch ever been in trouble with the NCAA

Butch has never been in trouble with the NCAA. And at Cincy his teams finished first academically in the Big East every year. It sounds like this years team also had a very good year academically which is a huge breath of fresh air.

He is just one of those rare guys who has a combination of a relentless work ethic and charisma and that is why he is so good in recruiting.

There are always good clues about the character and abilities of a coach when they take a new job. Is the school administration that previously employed him truly sorry to lose him? Is the fan base in general sorry or upset he is leaving? Does the roster speak well of him in general? What is the local and national media's reaction? Are there other major programs interested in hiring him?

Butch passed all of that with flying colors at both CMU and Cincy. If there had been serious issues with the AA or anything else in his past it would have been out there.

Recruiting front they are showing promise but no way they have backed it on the field yet...jury still out

They showed a good bit last year by pulling the upset over USC. If you play that game 10 more times highly unlikely we win again or even get within 10 points of them. But I do agree they need to show more on the field in terms of results. But credit is due for what they have done in 1 year of recruiting at UT.
