Has B Patrino been contacted

We can't hire Petrino for the same reason we should have never talked to Schiano.

Title 9 past, the upcoming rape trial of two UT players that a prior coach might have illegally enabled the destruction of evidence over, and the current Sexual Harassment climate. Schiano is very likely innocent, and we still shouldn't have looked at him so we weren't going through the A.J. Johnson trial with a new HC that was connected to Penn State.

You know the term Rise Up. We did, rightly. There is a cost. Let's stop talking about Petrino and swallow our medicine, get whoever we can, and fire John Currie for manufacturing an unnecessary mess.

Bobby Petrino would have UT in contention within 3 years. Has won everywhere he's been he may be arrogant and have made bad decisions in the past but other programs have given him a shot and it paid off. If a majority of Volnation is ok with Kiffin then Petrino shouldnt be an issue.

Or just, you know, neither one?

After torching the Schiano hire - UT cannot interview others like Petrino and Kiffin with serious character issues. You would not want other schools with photos of Petrino in his neck brace and kiffin crying at the airport to show recruits.

Wouldn't bother me . Kiffin would just take them to a strip club to get there minds off of it

huuuuuuuge difference between cheating on your wife and possibly knowing about child rape and doing nothing about it....

If you would have suggested Briles, yes, but this is not even in the same ballpark.

So keep him on a short leash its better then going through this again in 5 years because the fan base wants to win. He did issue a public apology why not at least talk to him

News flash. If we bring in that guy we're going to be going through this again in less than 5 years, and we'll be in worse shape than we are now. Go back and look at his history. He's never stayed anywhere that long, and he always leaves the program a complete trainwreck when he bolts for his next job.

Keyword...Allegedly.

However, no one sin is greater than the other. If you are going to take the moral high road in the coaching search Schiano = Petrino. Except that Petrino is confirmed garbage. Schiano was just hung by a guy that heard another guy say something about him, that a fourth guy said he did not say 25 years ago. I think that is the definition of allegedly.

Thats one thing I've been thinking about with Schiano. How could he have hung out and worked with Sandusky for 5 years and not heard or suspected any type ofinnappropriate behavior?

There are reports that Paterno ignored complaints back to 1976.

You make it sound like he got busted for underage drinking when he as 17.

When he was 42, he had the infamous secret interview with Auburn.

When he was 45, he abruptly jumped to the Falcons.

When he was 46, he quit the Falcons in the middle of a season and left form letters in each player's locker to tell them that he had done so.

When he was 51, he hired someone who he was having an affair with and crashed his motorcycle.

Yeah, the guy's a hell of a coach. But it's really difficult to go nuts over the Schiano hire, hide behind the smokescreen of "morals", and then hire someone like Petrino.

I had a serious discussion this week with a Penn State guy who knew Joe PA and the Paterno family quite well. He said Sandusky set up some type of charity involved with disadvantaged youth that was loosely affiliated with the university. This is where he was grooming his victims. Other Penn State coaches likely had no knowledge of what Sandusky was doing in this operation. Sandusky was married with a family and was known at the time as one of the top defensive minds in NCAA. This was one of the strangest Jekyll and Hyde deals of all time. Schiano was one of the kids on the staff and likely had as little knowledge as Sandusky's neighbors down the street who thought he was a great person with a perfect family. Unbelievable crazy situation.

He cheated on his wife with an employee of the University he out ranked. If you don't know what that has to do with Title 9 or sexual harassment, you haven't been paying attention the last decade.

We also don't get to split hairs over morality once we paint a rock claiming a man supported child rape based on double hearsay testimony from a 25 year old a event. That's reason not to hire him. Its not justification to explain the difference to the national press over it for a coach who is a proven liar that's been fired with cause.

You can't hire that guy after you took a stand against Schiano, would be very hypocritical.
