I'd be willing to bet that no other school has spent so much money to fail so badly.

If we're serious about football, we should take interim steps today to stop the bleeding. (And no, not fire Butch, because that's not even an option.)

Actually, I think it might be. Doesn't his contract end after this year and wasn't last year the final year of the Dooley contract? If so, I believe that could free up some funds to go out and get something other than a D2 staff.

I could be wrong, so correct me if that's the case. But it's apparent that this team will not win with the current staff.

If you take out the Ivy League schools UT is 9th all time in wins. I know Alabama went through a couple of mediocre patches , but has any other historically dominant program fallen as far and stayed down for as long as we have? The only one I can think of that comes close is Texas right now, and they don't even compare. It has been 17 years since we won a conference championship, and it doesn't look like we are turning it around anytime soon.

We aren't historically dominate in the modern era. We are historically mediocre.
