Has another QB ever really had a TRUE chance to play?

And yet he still remained a 3*......interesting

This

Somebodies daddy paid for their 4 star ranking
Also post the national rankings of the teams they played. Their camp performances. Any injuries during the time.

Right. I'm wrong because some mystery message board guy who was "close to the situation" claims it to be true. I'm going to rely on what I actually see, thank you for trying.
That’s fair. But if you’ve been around for the last year and half and payed attention to my post you may find that I’m not just some “mystery message board guy”. Js

Your continual defense of JG is admirable to a point but seriously misguided. I held out hopes for something different every single year he has started, and every single year absolutely nothing has changed with him. Head coaches have changed, offensive coordinators have changed, quarterback coaches have changed. Only two things have remained constant with him at quarterback. One, he hasn't improved since day one here, and two he is a boat anchor as a leader for this program. And it is a shame because he genuinely seems to have orange in his blood and is giving his all... But face it, his all hasn't been enough the past several years, and is not this year either.

Player's drunk uncle isn't much better
You got nadds to even be on here given your history of failures. So if I were you, I’d stop trying because you’ve done nothing but make a fool of yourself. Do you even realize that YOU and your boy are the laughing stock of VN?

Not according to Pruitt. Still right.

BM still a non factor.

What does it say about his talent that he can't even compete with, let alone beat out, a "laughingstock?"

Short routes - - - NOT OVER THE MIDDLE
hand offs - - - yep and that's about all..
So, as a former coach quite some time ago, I went back and charted JG's first half only. The second half was garbage and nothing to glean from it. Here is what I saw:

1st Half Passing Chart for JG

0-5 yards: 9-12 with no INTs

6-10 yards 1-2 with 1 INT

10-15 yards 1-3 with 1 INT

16 yards and longer 0-1

1st Half Notes

JG INT#1
  • He threw an 8 yard out route to the right sideline to #4 Tillman. JG never looked at any other receiver.
  • The ball was snapped and JG's head immediately turned right and the ball was thrown to a well-covered #4 Tillman toward the sideline.
  • This play may have been designed to go to #4 Tillman, but it was not there and he should have gone through his progressions at that point.
JG INT #2
  • The ball was terribly underthrown to UT receiver #11 Hyatt.
  • UT receiver #11 was well covered with KY defender #14 directly in front of him at about 1-2 yards and another KY defender #23 was right behind the receiver.
  • The play: #11 Hyatt was 13-14 yards deep, going from the left side of the field toward the middle. JG was trying to place the ball over and to the right of KY defender #11 and (1) made a poor decision; (2) underthrew the ball; and (3) appeared to throw off his back foot.
1:20 to go in 1st Half
  • JG pass to #3 Gray is almost picked off.
  • Gray ran a curl route to the left sideline.
  • JG threw off his back foot into coverage.
  • Fortunately, this was an incomplete pass but could have been his 3rd INT in the first half.
Around the 1 minute mark to go in 1st Half
  • JG underthrows the pass to #5 Palmer on a comeback route.
  • Positives were that #5 was not covered and JG did not throw off the back foot.
Conclusions
  • JG was more than efficient with the short routes (9-12) as opposed to deeper routes (2-5 with 2 INTs).
  • JG still has problems with mechanics such as (a) throwing off the back foot, and (b) under throwing his receivers. Multiple occurrences of throwing off the back foot observed and one almost resulted in a third INT.
  • JG still has problems with decision making demonstrated by (a) his poor ability in reading the secondary at the line of scrimmage, (b) not seeing the defenders, and (c) once the ball is snapped, poor attempts or lack of attempting to go through his progressions.
  • Our long touchdown scoring drive (end of 1st half) resulted in no-huddle, quick snap handoffs to our backs. The KY defensive line was tired (hands on hips).

I think Maurer was totally given a shot last season, but the 2 concussions plus INT problems kind of put the kibosh on that. I don't think that Shrout has ever been truly given a chance though.

According to a defensive coordinator you mean? The same one that’s had him for a year and a half and STILL can’t stop him from “flashing”? What’s that say if said defensive coordinator is one of the brightest defensive minds in the game and HIS defense can’t stop a qb that’s “no good” from making plays? Especially given that qb hasn’t gotten reps! It tells me Pruitt is missing a golden opportunity to develop that qb.

Pruitts qb evaluation is in serious question right now for the second time if you haven’t noticed. This team is in the process of imploding as a result. I don’t find it odd at all that YOU would be handling it the same way and would rather watch this program fail than to admit you’re wrong. And you want to question MY fandom? 🤦‍♂️

If we had a better choice I would be all for playing him. I am a UT fan. You are not.

If Bailey is ready give him a shot. The other two don't have the talent and football iq.

Say what you will about JG. BM is worse. Always has been considered worse. The coaches consider him worse now. Had worse numbers when he played.

You don’t know what those coach”s” think. So stop trying to act like you do. You know what PRUITT thinks and that’s it. But keep in mind he’s the least experienced of them all.

I know I posted this last week but it is still my main source of frustration. As I’m reading through some of the new threads several points really stuck out to me. If you really are giving a guy a shot wouldn’t you stick with one guy and really work on getting him ready? They gave Shrout one series and Harrison one series last week. Then this week they give Maurer one series. No way are you really trying to give someone else a shot. On top of that this week you were getting blown out bad by the beginning of the third quarter and just handing the ball off most of the time. Why wait until like 4 minutes left in the game to give someone else some reps??? Why????? And you know you are going to need a QB for the future. And you refuse to let anyone else have a chance. Why is this happening????? WHY😭
