Carson Gentles older brother just hit the portal. Has one year remaining. I wonder if we’d pursue - and give Satterwhite/Lang another year to develop

Coach Chop and Rodney Garner follow him on Twitter. Tell tale sign we’re looking is if other coaches/staff start following.

This is 10000% a no brainer. Worst case is you've got another Chattanooga kid on your roster who happens to by definition be a high-academic individual and is experienced depth at a position where you're losing a 5-year starter and currently have only very, very inexperienced options who would have to beat him out.

Best case is he comes in and wins the job, performs super well, and gives Satterwhite/Lang/Anderson (who played 4Q C snaps Saturday) another year of seasoning.

You take the best or get the best depth if you can find it from anywhere this isn’t the 90’s to 2015…if you want a team like that go root for Clemson who doesn’t properly utilize the transfer portal lol
I agree. But, recruits will start to notice that Heupel/Glenn have never started a player they recruited out of high school

Seems like a sure way for Satterwhite our projected starting center to transfer for a one year fix. We need to stop chasing the shiny objects and develop what we have if they are showing promise and growth. Surviving on the transfer portal is a recipe for failure in my opinion. The portal is for filling NEEDS that we haven't filled with our recruiting, I do not believe center fits that description.

Bring Carson’s brother, I imagine we’ve already had unofficial talks that lead to him entering the portal

Projection is great but competition is way better, you earn the spot if you are good enough

There’s an idea that you have to be fairly intelligent to be a center, and especially so in this offense

So we may get the #2 rated center in the country and he may be a Harvard graduate by the time he arrives?

Yes, please!
