Hart's comments on Dooley

Hart has to publicly back his HC; he knows how wacky the local media is and doesn't want to invite conjecture about Derek's job status all season. Any sort of statement hinting at "significant improvement needed," or "bowl eligibility is the deal-breaker" would only immediately get thrown back in Dooley's face.

While Hart expects improvement, I'm slowly coming around to the opinion that unless there is a slam dunk hire out there at the end of the season, Dooley can return with 7 wins. As I said, it all depends on who's available if that decision has to get made.

It is equally as comical to assume that Dooley is not on the hotseat with Hart simply because Hart was smart enough not to announce it to the world a few days before the start of the football season.

No AD would be that dumb. Oh wait!

Let's not forget that Hart had at least a say in not a hand in hiring these assistants. These coaches are as much Hart's as they are Dooley's.

What do you expect him to say? "He better win 9 games or he is toast." Wake up. He's on the hot seat. I for one think he'll get it done this year, barring any injuries, but don't kid yourselves. You lose to UK and finish last in the SEC east and your seat is hot as hell.

Pretty much agree with this. Any AD worth their salt is not going to announce that a coach is on the hot seat.

yup. next year is our year!!!! ........until next year, then we'll all say... Next year is our year !!!! ...... until the next year.....

you get the point.

I'm tired of our year always being "next year" BUT at least we have stability. I can sleep well at night.

If the Head Coach stays, but we turn over 7-8 assistants each year, is that really stability?

I totally agree with this post. Anyone wishing Dooley to do poorly and lose...that's just stupid. I am tired of setbacks in our program and I think if Dooley has a winning season, you keep him.
