Hart will Not announce a decision til after the season

I thought the decision was already made and it will be announced in 24 hours???

According to all the "insiders" with "ecred" yes, the decision has been made. As much as I would love to have Gruden or other high profile coach, I'll buck the trend and say if Dooley wins out plus a win in a crappy bowl, he stays. All my sources from Cocke County tell me I can "book it" and "mark it down".

Dooley cannot survive this. He's not winning and he cannot recruit effectively under this cloud. The fanbase is too divided. Those Vol fans who are sticking with Dooley to the bitter end are the same diehards who will immediately flip to the new guy, once hired. Nobody gets bonus points for saying I supported him 'til the last possible second.

Isn't Cocke Co. in GA? :)

8-5 is meaningless. This season is already a wash. We didn't beat anyone who mattered. This will be the weakest 8-5 in the program's history--wins over NC State, Akron, GA State, Missouri, Vandy, Kentucky, and Troy? And then some scrub in a toilet bowl, I guess.

But I guess we should be happy about that because it shows progress, right?

This is the PERFECT analysis of the FACTS.

Dude I just posted it as my status on Facebook...I could not have said it better myself.

I for one would dance in the streets if we hired a " Gruden " type coach . I also remember firing Fulmer in the middle of the season . How has that worked for us , so far ?

sad to see that most of the fanbase have the attitude of da'rick from last year that playing in a crappy bowl ain't worth it. i for one think it is important for us to make a bowl game and win it this year.

Hart said the day he was hired, it is his policy to evaluate all coaches at season's end. That being said, if we lose to Troy, MU, VU or KY, (i think we lose at least one of these), he will be under tremendous pressure from the people who matter most, (boosters not us fans) to act before season's end, in order to get a head start on other schools in the market for a new coach.

nice avatar wow

I was working on a beach house today that belongs to an ARKANSAS alumn and booster...he said deal is just about done for butch davis and that davis is gathering staff that could include Lance Thompson as DC...let's hope not!

This? You mean losing games he was supposed to?

The other bold section is exactly what a true fan should do. You shouldn't have to be a guru to know that.

heard this on the call in show and final score board show after the game yesterday. so that puts a end to all this nonsense and jibbish going on here on volnation about dooley being fired before seasons end. Hart will not evaluate dooley til after the season. This show is part of the vol network so i would doubt that this would be false information.

Wait, isn't Hyams part of the Vol network? Yeah, I don't have much faith in the Vol network. Bunch of jackholes claiming to be Vols but not even close.

If Dooley is coach next year, then Hart needs to go. If Hart screws up the next hire by settling for someone like Kirby Smart, he needs to go. He's meant to be an improvement over Hambone and if he can't handle this he sure as hell isn't an improvement. He needs to get it done. I'm tired of settling what's left after other teams in our conference take their pick.

If Hart screws this up, I'm shining up my pitchfork and lighting my torch. I'm sure I can find some other angry villagers to visit him at home and express our displeasure. If Big Jim let's Hart screw this up, I'm gonna start a Boycott Pilot web page. I'm sure I can create reasons why.

All jokes aside, I'm tired of losing and Dooley has shown he cannot get it done. I don't give a damn if you share that opinion or not, Dooley needs to go. Nothing personal, completely business, the man is not the man for the job.

Oh, and this mentality that we should be okay with losing games we're supposed to is complete and utter BS. The reason we're supposed to lose those is because the media knows we suck. We should never be okay with being expected to lose. It's a bunch of crap. No way was Miss St more talented than us, they were expected to win because everyone knew they were better coached. We have talent on this team they just haven't been coached up like they should.

Yeah, the Vol Network is really gonna be the first to tell us when a coach is hired. They are so objective. If that's right, however, expect super-low turnouts to these last game. Tickets prices will have to be slashed.

WTF? I'm not getting bonus points?!?

That's it. I'm done. My new goal in life is to rant and rave on the internet about something I have no control over. I'm sick of trying to be positive in order to spread positivity about the program. I'm now going to be a weight around the team's collective neck.

They all suck. No one on our team is any good. I wish James Franklin were our coach. You know what? We'd be better off with no coach at all.

If we win out Dooley is not going anywhere. He might have to hire a new DC. As part of staying. I will believe the Gruden stuff when he is announced as the new football coach at UT. I reayy hope he is. But he has a pretty good job now and he don't have to recruit or put up with the fans when things get do not go right. Dooley's mistake this year was the hire at DC. Should have hired a proven DC that runs a 4-3 defense and knows what it takes to win in the SEC.

How bout we hire a HC that knows what it takes to win in the SEC?

So the media chooses the favorite? Good to know that; next time I get ready to place a bet I will be sure to ignore all the people wagering on who they think will win based on talent. You do know that's the process for determining the line, right?
