You left out the hatred some our fans show and petitions they start. Some will turn the job down due to that. So it might take a little time.
A lot of interviews are done behind closed doors, like Martin's interview with Cali. we didn't hear about that one either.
Why is it hard to have faith in Hart to get it done? What has Hart done poorly?
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! With Mike White from La. Tech, we get a coach whose team did well in the N.I.T. the past two seasons.
I have been telling everyone that we would get a coach from the N.I.T. tourney. An up & comer for a cheap price.
Once he gets success, Hart will not pay him, so he will take his services elsewhere. He will outgrown the paycheck that U.T. is willing to give him......
And how was CCM underpaid? He was offered 500,000 raise after he had SUCCESS. That seems fair to me.BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! With Mike White from La. Tech, we get a coach whose team did well in the N.I.T. the past two seasons.

And UT worked at keeping him. What's your point?
UT did not work at keeping him. Hart should have publicly supported him during they whole year (and have his back during the petition instead of conveniently jumping on the bandwagon at the end of the year). It's hard to blame CCM for not trusting him at that point.
I'd say giving him a 31% raise and a contract extension is backing him perfectly. Of course some of you Cuonzo crusaders believe in the Mike Hamilton style of overpaying coaches and having ridiculous contracts that do nothing to protect the school. I am glad that is not Hart's style. Reward success but don't go crazy. Martin had the chance to come back next year and prove he could duplicate the LATE season success he had. I remember that awkward looking hug. I have read a couple of times about Martin's family being harassed. Is that truth or just propaganda being spread? If true, then it is really sad. If not true, then the ones spreading those type of lies should confess. Either way, it was time for him to go, as he did not want to be here. But the idea of thousands of UT fans marching on Martin's house with pitchforks and torches is a little silly.By all accounts, Martin was fine with the raise and the extra two years. It was the buy out that was the problem.
Even then, Martin went on the radio(Hyams/Wilkerson) and said that Hart's job is to protect the university and that he (Hart) does a world class job of that. (obviously, I'm paraphrasing).
I never considered myself a crusader, but as a person living in the epicenter of all the negativity it was hard, very difficult, not to pull for the guy.
Then he made the tourney, and I can't remember which game it was, but after one of them Hart runs up to Martin, caught on camera and tries to give the guy a hug. It looked so uncomfortable...Martin, on his way out probably could have said some things, but he talked glowingly about Hart and the passionate fans.
He's gone, but I hope we don't bring in another guy with three years of experience, expect him to give us Pearl type results, and treat he and his family rudely if he can't live up.
