I doubt he will but if he does (barring a ton of injuries) then he will deserve what comes to him.

No. If Hart is a guy qualified to do the job then it will have absolutely NOTHING to do with being "pissed off".

It is ALL... as in COMPLETELY... about setting a standard of excellence and demanding that everyone in the staff meet it. I'm not surprised that you think it would be about getting "pissed off" or some ego driven emotional response.... but if Hart is a guy who will ever "get it done" then it won't be.

I don't particularly want Peterson. I am not sure he's a good fit for UT culturally. I know for a fact that he's done nothing to prepare him to survive in the fishbowl that is UT Vol football. I won't say that I know who UT should get. I really liked the guy who went to Syracuse. He might be attracted back. In all honesty, I don't see many if any slam dunk coaches out there who are currently available.

UT is a uniquely difficult job even if the coach inherits the program in decent condition. You have to recruit almost all of your talent from out of state. You have to satisfy a fanbase that analyzes and criticizes every move. Even playing in front of that many fans might be nerve racking.... and that is before you consider the problems all SEC teams face concerning competition.

I believe unless Dooley collapses completely that he will get two more years. His contract and the buyout just makes it too difficult to get rid of him. I personally think 8 wins including a bowl gets him a reprieve and especially if he gets a "good win"... UF, Bama, UGA, USCe.... someone of that caliber.

Hart is doing the right thing. He seems to have communicated a very clear vision of where he expects the football program to go. We will see.

This thread is going to be a negavols explosion. I read that he said that he cared about winning as does everyone else. He is letting the media know that UT is working to build the program back.

What is everyone going to do when CDD doesn't get fired next year and has a good season? Where would the TruthGeneral, Fiji and DrunkJohnny go? Will they still hate on Dooley?

Some people are just dumb. Firing Dooley without a top notch replacement will only keep our program where it is. I guess if it satisfies a few fans who think winning is easy & firing every coach who can't fix a huge mess then do it. Going in circles of failure & mediocrity doesn't satisfy me.

I hope he gets two more years. My personal opinion is that we are still going to be young next year. That is just me. It takes time for these kids to develop.

There will be many post around July about these recruits starting and that freshman starting for some reason posters get so blinded by the recruits coming in that they forget who is already on the team.

I think DD needs another year to develop talent to make a run in 2013. Don't get me wrong I really like the recruiting class we have right now but they will be freshman. I think sometimes we put to much emphasis on them coming in and contributing as a freshman. It takes time to develop them. It really does!

CDD will get more wins vs loses next year....this gets him his senior class on the field in 2013, that season will be the measuring stick for his career at UT.

Have to agree...no more BS about youth. Deal with it and get 'er done.

I want Dooley to be successful, but I live in the real world not the dream world. He will do everything right but WIN.

All he said was win more than lose, show improvement.He didn't say he has to win 10 or 11 like some yahoos like to spout. He is a rational professional.

That was a shot across Mama Dooley's son's bow. Look the excuses, the this is my first year crap will not stand with Dave Hart. Most of you have dropped your expectations so low that even Dooley may crawl over, but Hart sees the problem. Moral victories, close calls, excuses are now over. Let's see if Dooley can rise to jump over the bar?

Somewhat young but not too young to win. UT should not need 10-15 Fr to play key roles this fall. Most SEC teams outside of LSU and Bama have Fr who play. Most of the key players will actually be Jr's. Youth isn't an excuse for a JR heavy team.

IMHO, UT cannot afford it. Dooley has to make some tangible, on the field improvement in 2012 or else the seat gets hot and recruits will stop believing. After that, he becomes a liability.

I wish his contract was structured differently but he knew what he was walking in to and made a smart deal.

If he finishes with 7 or less wins next fall then UT probably will not be able to wait even with the buyout.

You... are ridiculous. Hart said nothing of the sort. He specifically DID NOT deny that youth and experience were REAL problems for Dooley's first two years.

And before you even start on me... I have said from the very start that Dooley should have to show something by year 3. UT's unique situation dictates it. The contract was screwed up. His buyout should have gone down much faster than it does.
