People can call me what they want for saying this, I frankly don’t care. I will not watch this sh**. It’s sickening that the need it still felt to shove this garbage down our throats. We get it. There is zero reason for this move over than the agenda.
1) SW fans have been bitching and moaning since the prequels… actually since the Special Editions. There was even a documentary about the fans vs George Lucas.I get your point but the new Star Wars trilogy was a complete disaster.
I was a kid when the prequels came out and time has done them a lot of justice. So much better than the new trilogy.1) SW fans have been bitching and moaning since the prequels… actually since the Special Editions. There was even a documentary about the fans vs George Lucas.
2) The sequels were a mess but had zero to do with “wokeness” or “agenda”.
3) Aside from the sequels Disney has put out a lot of other good SW material.
I love SW. I don’t love every piece of it that comes out, but I really don’t spend time dwelling on the parts I don’t like or hold it against every other project.
I think this is where a lot of the Snape stuff is coming from. For people that know nothing of the HP canon source material there still might be those that eye-roll the race swap vs the films but they aren't necessarily going to be invested in getting up in arms over the change. People that are familiar with the source material and can point to very explicit descriptions of Snape can be more than a little annoyed by a change that flies in the face of those descriptions. The real problem there is those people invested in canon are, almost by definition, the kind of people you want to make happy. That's your "base" that buy merch and rewatch over and over.My main issue with disliking most of the new SW is because the morons un-canonized all the books I read (that were incredible) and came up with complete garbage to replace it. Smh.
This and as was mentioned with Hermione being a Mudblood is that now going to mean she's biracial? I guess you could say technically she already was in the magical world of parents with and without magical abilities.I think this is where a lot of the Snape stuff is coming from. Now the real, IMO, hazard here isn't in just a melanin upgrade with the actor but what that could mean to the story. It's absolutely embedded in the Snape backstory how he was treated as a youth. Is this really going to be a bunch of white (or at least majority white) students razzing on the black kid? I could be wrong but I don't think most people would have a huge issue with the race swap in a vacuum but if the story becomes something actually predicated on racism I'm of the opinion that could be quite divisive.
Maybe he auditioned well?
You people act like they just pluck a black guy off the street to check a box.
I mentioned earlier in this thread how HP fans are going to start behaving like toxic Star Wars fans and here we go.

Yeah, well I'm not going to read the books, so I welcome a series that can tell a more comprehensive version of the stories.we need to be promoting original shows. not retreads of movie franchises. you know what movies are cliff notes of stories? Literally every movie every made. That's why you read the books.
I was in my early 30s when I first read the books and have since read them two or three times.Yeah, well I'm not going to read the books, so I welcome a series that can tell a more comprehensive version of the stories.
Some people prefer a more detailed story. The movies are solid but they really don’t the books justice. I don’t disagree with you about original ideas but I can name 10 shows more unnecessary than thiswe need to be promoting original shows. not retreads of movie franchises. you know what movies are cliff notes of stories? Curious. Would you have the same take if they casted a white man for a well known black role? Or is it just “the whites?”Couldn't be that.
In all seriousness, he is considered one of the big up-and-comers in Hollywood. Should've got a worse actor to play Dumbledore to keep the insecure whites happy.
