Harrison Bailey started following...

So let's say Gundy can't get approval to raise him to 1.2 mil and UT is offering that. Is he a dirtbag for taking it even if Gundy doesn't want him to?
Has an offer been made? Do we know this? I've seen a report that he was interviewed last Friday but not one that said Yurcich was offered the job. I'm asking, not being a SA.

If you guys want to propose hypothetically that after all the wheeling and dealing is done, offer and counter-offer, etc., etc., there is still a $ 400,000 gap in pay between UT and T. Boone Pickens U, then hypothetically I would suspect Gundy would understand and be square with Yurcich leaving under that set of facts. Gundy himself has played that game with us before.

All I'm saying is a man has to do what's best for him and his family regardless of who that pisses off. Doesn't make him a dirtbag.

I agree, and I'm not being a SA here either, but what was this argument about in the first place?

I agree with you normally, however this is a very unusual situation, it is bound to inspire a higher level of loyalty than is typical in most decent non-dirtbag human beings. That's going to be hard to overcome if Gundy really wants to keep Yurcich.

LOL, my original comment in all its glory or lack thereof, depending on your point of view: "Gundy found this guy when he was making 52K a year. I imagine he is pretty loyal to Gundy and if he isn't he's a dirt bag. [Link ESPN article]".

You are just too much man, first you accuse me of being melodramatic and then blatantly exaggerate the number of years Yurcich worked for Gundy, and then you start babbling about straw men and then make a blatant straw man argument, the record of the posting is clear, I didn't say "him leaving would make him a dirt bag", I said if he wasn't loyal to Gundy under the circumstances he was a dirt bag, obviously if he and Gundy are square, no problem. And before you start back with the hypothetical facts of there being a half a million dollar difference in pay, let me also ease your conscience and let you know that if in some other hypothetical situation, say Gundy raped Yurcich's wife or something, I would also not consider Yurcich a dirt bag for leaving under those circumstances. And you brought up "indentured servitude" obviously you have no flipping idea what it was if you think someone making 800 grand a year qualifies as an indentured servant.
Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Gundy raped Yurchich’s wife? It shouldn’t take half a mil to pry him away then! We’re doing him (and his wife) a big favor!

CavemanLawyer guy called Yurchich a dirtbag for even contemplating leaving Gundy. Geesh Behr! He’s posted it a thousand times!

Few of quick points and I'm out.

1. Gundy did hire the guy for Gundy's on self-interest, not yurcich.

2.Gundy himself said so he wouldn't have to switch coordinators every one to two years, that is well beyond taken care of at this point.

3. Despite indentured servitude being more than acceptable, I said indebted servitude.
As in serving as Gundy's OC to pay off a debt for picking him.

As soon as someone has to change your words just to try to give a rebuttal, it tells me the entire argument is just a waste of board space.

Lulz. I'm just gonna leave it alone because I was unintentionally dishonest by saying I wasn't being a SA. I meant "not being an AHole but...". But I screwed that up. I'm a dumbass.

Anarchist me: If it does, It dies.
Realistic me: I just wish some would tone down the doom and gloom, take it a few notches below apocalyptic.

If you said "indebted servitude" originally (I'm not going back to check now) then I misread it, I've had my words repeatedly misquoted/mischaracterized in this "argument".
