Harrison Bailey started following...

While I'd hope he learned from Gundy, this is Gundy's offense. Oklahoma State scores at the same rate roughly ever since he's been there no matter who the OC is on the team. So there's a good chance he's a very good offensive coach, there's also a chance he's just good at following Gundy's lead.

Easy there big fella. There are some fan boys in here that will get very upset with you for pointing this out.

It's all about selling points to him.

"Coach, we want you in Tennessee. Here's a significant raise, a new car/truck for recruiting and you can run the offense without any interference from anyone..."

"And did we mention we have way bigger sidelines than Stillwater?"

actually, it is the "interference" thing that has me concerned...Coach Pruitt has to let go of the offense or no one will succeed...:D

GO VOLS...RECRUIT LIKE HECK!

Oh please @OrangeCrush. If I was picked out of obscurity by a guy, and paid 8 times what I was previously making (now 16 times), and I later left the guy for the same job when he wanted me to stay, I'd be a dirt bag, and so would you. Now if Gundy has said "hit the road Top 20 offense guy", different deal, but I doubt that would be the situation.

C’mon man...frozen...guy? Half a million dollars? You accept that kind of raise and advancement on your resume, and no one not trying to win a message board argument gives you a molecule of DIRT over it!

I'm sure if UT offered him 1.3 mil, a fact which I have not seen anywhere, and OSU's powers that be could not get anywhere near that, I'm sure Gundy would be square with Yurcich leaving, after all, he has leveraged us for raises from the T. Boone Pickens fam multiple times.

Not here to argue, but after reading Gundy's comment in an article that was posted in one of these threads, about Yurcich taking another job, he wants him to do what he thinks is best for him. If he lied and doesn't feel that way, he's the dirt bag. Jmo.

I read the quotes about him saying Yurcich was ready to be a HC, that's different than a lateral move.

I get that, but I just have to believe that Gundy is thankful he's stayed with him as long as he has. I mean, he knows how that business is, that's what made him search for him the way he did. Surely Gundy knows that getting a huge raise and going to work for a team in the SEC could and probably will get him better and more lucrative HC offers.

Anyway, I'd bet they've talked about and if he actually does accept the job here, Gundy will be genuinely happy for him.

But by your own admission, if Yurcich got a substantial raise (which would be safe to assume considering what we paid Helton), then it's not a lateral move.

It's still an OC to OC in a P5 conference move. With our record and standing as of late, we are the OSU of the SEC.

Gundy found this guy when he was making 52K a year. I imagine he is pretty loyal to Gundy and if he isn't he's a dirt bag. How Mike Gundy found his offensive coordinator on the internet
Okay, here is my original comment. I said if the guy isn't loyal to Gundy he's a dirt bag. I stand by that. If him and Gundy are square with him coming here, that's not being disloyal to Gundy. Again, this was an unusual situation the way Gundy found Yurcich, and it's likely to inspire more loyalty than your average HC-OC relationship. God forbid someone say anything which in any way interferes with the hopes and dreams of the moment around here.

It had nothing to do with hopes and dreams; it had to do with utter stupidity--i.e. the idea that him leaving would make him a dirt bag (whether Gundy agreed or not). I have news for you; indentured servitude ended centuries ago.

The one that jumped out at me was this:

"He isn't good enough to hire away and he isn't bad enough to fire. It is an incredibly annoying situation."

That sounds exactly what we can't afford. Pruitt needs some help. It really does concern me that the majority of their fans seem perfectly fine with losing this guy.
Because OKLAHOMA STATE fans know what true champions look like?
