Harrison Bailey (merged)

Who cares if it was the playoff? They still got a ring. Hurts still got them to the game. And idc what you call Lawrence. He still ran designed QB runs out of the spread which you called a gimmick offense. Whether they've won a NC or not (which they have), they've had better seasons than we've had in the last 15+ years and the only decent seasons we have had were out of the spread with a dual threat QB.
That’s not true. In 2007 we went 9-4 and finished 12th in the final poll with Ainge as the QB, ten spots higher than we ever got with Dobbs. And again, Lawrence is a pro-style and it’s dishonest to cite him otherwise.

OP, I think he’s the better of the three with more upside.

Of course, this is Tn Tech!

Wonder what excuses HB people will make now?

He is obviously 3rd string right now, I am sure he can be the guy in the future.
He was playing with our 3 rd string and walk ons. He didn’t look any worse than hooker or Milton to be honest . So that excuse I guess?

He threw one that would have been a pick 6 next week...very obvious his arm is slow

Yep. The fetish that so many of our fans have for Bailey is weird. Almost creepy weird. He’s 3rd string. He’s shown nothing to indicate he’s better than the others. Our HC is a QB guru with the track record to prove it. But many of our fans won’t shut up about their need to see UT start the 3rd stringer.

He’s shown nothing in this game to suggest he’s the guy.

Doesn't mean he didn't run plays designed for a dual threat QB. And we didn't beat Florida or Bama in '07 and Ainge played terrible in the SECCG. The game has evolved a ton since '07. Any offense can win games and be successful with enough time to develop and get the right supporting cast and the right situational playcalling.

Based on what I saw today, Bailey is clearly the #3 QB. I thought he would show better.

His outside passes did not have the zip that Milton and Hooker have. A couple might have been picked off with SEC corners covering.
He did not react quick enough to open receivers.
Did not demonstrate command of the offense as well as Hooker or Milton.
Not nearly as dynamic as a runner.
He did show a little better touch on deep passes but that doesn't make up for the other deficiencies.
It's between Milton and Hooker. Not sure which is better at this point.

Thinking Milton is a better passer than Bailey or anyone else seems a little crazy

Bailey plays in slow motion
