I was really hoping this kid was going to be number one. I now believe that he is just in the wrong system.
CJH's -offense is not going to wait for HB to get rid of the ball in time. I believe he is the most accurate passer of the four but he does not get rid of the ball fast enough. I think he will be the first to transfer. If, and a big if, the OL could give him the time he would be my choice as QB. I do not think that will happen. I hope I am wrong.

The QB holding the ball too long doesn’t work in any system. Let’s see what he can do under a real QBs coach before we write him off.

That’s a ton of information you have gathered…..from nowhere.

“The two things I focused on were my body so I can run and move better,” Bailey continued. “That’s one. They actually sent us our before and after pictures today. I dropped a couple percent body fat. Lost about five or so pounds. I can really see myself moving better within the pocket. And really just running, I feel a lot better. Then second I would say my deep ball. I’ve been able to really adjust the way and the angles I throw my deep ball. Besides that, it’s been really good. Really excited for this season.”

...Now with Heupel in town, it’s a totally new experience. It’s pedal-to-the-medal offense designed to apply as much pressure as possible, both with tempo and spread concepts. Bailey says that speed creates a need for simplicity, something that he says is allowing him to just ‘play ball.’ “Y’all seen it in the spring game, but just our ability to push the ball down the field,” Bailey said. “We play so fast. We get a lot of defenses out of where they want to be lined up. We also play so fast that our offense kind of has to be simple to a point. And decisions are easy. Really all you have to do is drop back and play ball.”

Harrison Bailey details the two areas that he worked on during the offseason

...was arrested and kicked off the team for driving a stolen car full of black tar heroin and rocket launchers.

Is what goes through our minds when we see a post with just a name.

Don't do that again.

We really need to have a new stamp. Like the "Nited" stamp, but instead it says: "don't title a thread with just a name."

Maybe call it the 'Titled' stamp. Heh.

Go Vols!

p.s. Harrison is fine, relax, let fall camp play out. Best man for the job will start. No telling yet if that's HB. Way too early in the process.

We're 3 practices into his 2nd season and it's with a completely new system. There's no reason to panic. He was one of the better Freshman QBs in America last season in spite of being put in less-than-ideal circumstances.

Also consider that even if he were the best QB right now, the coaches would still point out things he needs to improve upon.

I like this kid too.....When all is said and done, his passing accuracy will not be denied. That is something we have not had for a long time..Even though he played some last season, that offense was a 1950 version and extremely limited..

Also, pretty sure one, or more, of the extremely mobile QB's will see a lot of action too...We have way too much talent not to use more than one quarterback.

We’ve had three fall practices, let’s pump the brakes a little.

It seems like no one has really taken the reigns in the QB comp yet.
Based on what we saw fro the #3 practice, I agree. I thought all 4 looks equally inadequate in practice 3.

Remember the qb coach said they are looking for someone who can process what’s going on because of the speed they play at, and to be able to extend plays when chaos starts to happen, in other words he doesn’t have to Micheal Vick and reverse field for a 60 yd sprint down field, just move around, be accurate, and hit the open man before the dbs close the window… HB will be fine if he can do those things

Playing fast refers to the time between plays, not hurrying through the current play once the ball is snapped. The QB battle will be won by who the coaches believe gives the team the highest probability of success. The determining factors will be how quickly they can read the defense, make the right decision with where to go with the ball, and then successfully execute the play.

Consistency in execution. That’s the starter.

We just went through 4 years of Guarantano. That was as bad a "fit" as one could imagine. Pretty sure a square peg in a round hole would be an upgrade. Bailey or any other QB on the roster would have to be better. If not, gawd help what's gonna be left of our sad program.
