My sincere hope is that Pruitt & Co. bring him along the right way. Don't try making him an instant "savior," rather put some meat on him to better deal with the SEC level pounding QBs endure. Have Chaney refine his already awesome skills until he's as Peytonesque or Bradyitic as possible. Recruit the player weapons in terms of RBs, WRs, and OL personnel so he's surrounded by the talent he needs to be his best. Then unleash him on the SEC and our OOC opponents. Start the process now of building a team around him. Including a defense that makes the scoring stand and deliver.

I mean the kid is right at 6'5 235lbs. coming from a 7A program in GA where they have real weight programs. He is going to step on campus and be bigger then every Qb we have day 1.

My apologies. I automatically forgot that and considered him as a skinny frosh kid. Still, I prefer they bring him along with great care and avoid the instant savior syndrome. Make sure he's ready, I'd like Cjamey to make that determination.

P Manning was the most prepared freshman QB i have ever seen. Raised in NFL family and QB room growing up.

As a freshman, Manning began the season as the third-string quarterback.[20] In the season opener against UCLA, Manning was one of three quarterbacks to come off the bench after starter Jerry Colquitt suffered a season-ending injury on the seventh play of the game. However, Manning was not able to generate any offense, only handing the ball off three times, and was pulled from the game.[21] Two weeks later, in a 31–0 loss to the #1 Florida Gators, Manning completed his first collegiate pass. During the season's fourth game, against Mississippi State, starter Todd Helton got injured and Manning took over.[22] The Vols lost 24–21, but Manning threw his first touchdown in the game.[23] He was named the team's starter and remained so for the rest of his college career.[24] In his first start, the following week against Washington State, the Vols won 10–9. They won all but one of their remaining games, finishing the season 8–4 with a 45–23 victory over Virginia Tech in the 1994 Gator Bowl.[25][26][27][28] He finished his first collegiate season 89 of 144 for 1,141 passing yards, 11 touchdowns, and seven interceptions

Hopefully he gets to redshirt. A year for the spotlight to die down and ability to watch and learn from others' mistakes. It will be interesting to see who is still around for camp in spring, for him to learn from. I would actually like Guarantano to be one of those people. I am hopeful that Guarantano now understands his flaws and has learned to play within those, instead of thinking he is a Peyton who can read defenses and sling it around the field. He could be a great resource for helping all of the other QBs.

There should be a 100% open competition in Spring and the Fall. Best man wins but have all ready to play.
I don’t care if JG will have more college game experience. You handicap the team if you do not play the most talented Qb.

I agree. I'm not saying he is Trevor Lawrence, but these coaches aren't dumb. They have to win, so they are going to play the players who give them the best chance to do just that - whether it be a fifth year senior or a raw freshman. I have no crystal ball, but I'll bet Bailey is expecting to be given a chance to complete and to play. My guess is that he will get his chance.

From the AJC... "Marietta quarterback Harrison Bailey, playing only in the first half, completed 14 of 18 passes for 410 yards and six touchdowns." Marietta had 516 yards of offense - in the first half!

He is going to be an early enrollee also.
Should be a great change of pace next year. JG can play a Qrt and throw for 25 yards and 3 points the Bailey can throw for 250 and 3 touchdowns and of course then back to JG.

I have seen him play in person and he sure looks the part. Watched him play against some other D1 talent too. Throws with confidence and pace. Didn't hurt that we was throwing to receivers that were his same size in HIGH SCHOOL. Hope he turns out as I expect him to be pretty special at some point. He is a pro style pocket guy for sure and I know Chaney likes that.

Will their be another rivals update? Is there still a chance he gets his 5th star?
All of the recruiting services will have one more update after all the All Star games our played. Harrison will have his chance to get his 5th star during week of practice and game. I also believe that Thomas and Lawrence also will have a chance to raise there stock at the All American bowl.

That’s it, Recruit a special QB and then hope he redshirts. Tell Clemson to give back that NC trophy, they don’t deserve it. They didn’t redshirt that freshman like they should of and kept Kelly Bryant there to teach him! Right??

Honest question: has Chaney spoken out on Bailey or expressed any opinion about him?
Thought I read some comments earlier in the season where he wasn’t particularly high on Bailey? Although I could be mistaken. Just curious
