Hardesty = 2nd round steal.

It is so good to see him healthy for a full year. What a great year, I wish him the best at the next level.

For some reason, I can see Ted Thompson of the Packers picking him up late second round, or trade up early 3rd round.

He wont go in the 1st round but believe this...there are not 32 other players I can name that are more pro ready right now. I would love 4 someone 2 look me in my eyes and tell me there are 5 better draft eligible backs in America.

I think the world of Hardesty. That doesn't change the fact that any GM who drafts him in the second round or earlier is begging to get fired.

I think he's had knee surgery twice, if memory serves me. That's going to cost him on draft day. I think he will go around 5th round. His speed at the combine could help him a lot.

He'll be a steal, but he won't be drafted that high

Injury history pushes him back to 3rd or 4th at least, and that's still barring his combine and pro day performances

What!? No way Hardesty makes it to the 3rd or 4th round. His should be no worse than the 4th RB taken in the draft. He fits the pro game perfectly.

He has that same quality that all the great ones have had in that he gets stronger as the game goes on. His ability to consistently generate 3 or 4 yards per play will make him very valuable.

IMO, he will be a better fit for a zone blocking scheme than Moreno has been. I would love for the Colts to take him at the end of the first round. They have a history of taking RBs at that spot who were thought to go lower.

He answered his durability questions this year. Most RBs that come out have been banged up in college. He was not seriously hurt in 2008 and 2 healthy years should be enough time to show that his knee has recovered. The man ran it over 30 times in the last game of the regular season and absolutely brutalized tacklers.

Production in the SEC behind a very average OL should outweigh any injury concerns.

but he still has an injury history...of multiple injuries, and NFL scouts have to consider that very heavily when they draft a player

if he goes to combine and the physician giving the physicals on him says he looks like there's no lingering injuries that could resurface, than it could be a moot point. But if his body shows anything that indicates the past injuries or hints he could get hurt again, he'll drop back down on all the scouts' lists

It's his injury history, not his durability. And his 3-4 years of having some injury hurt him more than his 1 year of being completely healthy can balance him out...

I owe Hardesty a big apology. During preseason I posted I was ready for a new backfield because his 3.8 career ypc told me all I needed to know. Well I was wrong. Well done Montario. Sometimes I'm just not too bright.

CBS has him projected 3rd round

Montario Hardesty, , NFL Draft - CBSSports.com - NFLDraftScout.com

Seemed a little high because of his injury history. Draft bible has him possibly as low as 7th round for that reason

NFL DRAFT BIBLE - SEC: Kiffin Praises Hardesty

Mancini’s Take: Players with the heart and can-do attitude of Hardesty is what championship teams are made of. The kid is a warrior and the ultimate gamer on and off the field. What’s standing in the way of a successful pro career are his knee injuries. He’s had a few, including a torn ACL in 2005, and now continues to have his knee drained. That’s not a recipe for a long career. On the bright side, he’s an extremely physical power runner, who always keeps his legs moving and breaks tackles. His vision is solid and he has good hands as a pass catcher. He might make it as a seventh-round pick because of all the aforementioned physical concerns.

I think that his past injuries are being blown out of proportion, McGahee blew both knees out and was a first round pick, poor Frank Gore shredded both knees an has been a very productive back.

I think what will hurt Hardesty is the combine, where the scouts will not be blown away with his speed.

His best attributes are his vision and determination, he also is very good at holding on to the ball.

Would be surprised if he fell past the 3rd round, with so many teams running a 2 back system these days and the overall short life of an NFL running back I believe he should be considered a top 96 players in the draft.

Hardesty might run into a case of Javon Ringer-itis. Very procuctive college player, but injury history will make him drop some and he'll be a steal for someone that gets him.

I see him as a 4th rounder. Possible 3rd based on who comes out. RBs to go ahead of him will be:

CJ Spiller
Jonathan Dwyer
Jahvid Best
Evan Royster

Then he will be mixed in with Toby Gerhart, Ben tate, Charles Scott, Dixon, etc
