I know right! IMO Harbaugh never planned, meant, or wanted to stay at UM. He was always going back to the NFL and UM Admin. knew it also. He was brought in to win at all costs. He did knowing there would be no repercussions. Job is done now! Drops the mike, exit stage left.

Dude, yall looking at this wrong. JIM knew once he was suspended the 2nd time this season he was not gonna be Coaching in the NCAA next year. NCAA probably told him as much. They have enough dirt to bury Michigan and Harbaugh. This was basically a farewell tour in the Playoffs. The way his guys played they likely knew as well.

He flirted with returning to the NFL before this season too. Twice. The suspensions likely aided this decision, but he probably wanted to return to the NFL even if he wasn't in NCAA trouble.

That may be the case however the evidence was out there last year as well. He knew the writing was on the wall imo.

He flirted with it before the recruiting violation allegations came out too. He only returned to Michigan because it was better than any of the NFL jobs that were available after the 49ers fired him. I think he prefers the NFL to college.

He was heading to the Vikings couple years ago til that fell through.
He's been trying to get to the NFL every offseason for years now.
