Hands Up Don't Shoot?

Doesn't have to be just to save a life. If he's a threat to harm anyone then he's fair game.

and you can do some damage with rocks, even ones smaller than baseballs. I have been to the ER for stitches and an XRAY after my friends and i decided it was a good idea to throw at each other. i was 8 or 9 and we never did that again.

This deserves its own thread:

Some little migrant apple picker up in Washington threw rocks at cops so they decided the best way the 3 of them should take him down was to shoot him 13 times. It's not just that they shot him. He was fleeing. And it looks like he's turning to surrender when they unload on him.

Once you shoot him once may as well empty your magazine so you can get some fresh bullets.

What's the fun in that? Plus they don't get to learn the secret handshake until they off someone.

I don't know. I knew a dumb kid back in elementary school who threw a rock at a car. I guess he's lucky to be alive to this day.

Hey Huff...what do Ya say we go throw some rocks in an aggressive fashion at the cops point blank later today and then run from them? ...... I mean what could happen? The most they'd do is ask us not to do it again or call our parents.

You don't get it. No matter how many times I explicitly state my position, you don't get it. If you did, you wouldn't respond with this.

You know it is bad when some Mexican immigrants think the police are going over board...

And why do they cuff the guy after they shoot him? Is that to prevent him from coming back to life before the coroner declares him officially dead?

I wonder what would be the result of a cop stumbling upon a BB gun war?

I don't get what you are so pissed about. You don't give a damn about a baby that doesn't get the opportunity to NOT jump at cops but yet you weep over this guy.

What does abortion have to do with this? Please consider your argument for more than a few seconds.

I'm observing and questioning the trend of officers escalating altercations with civilians and taking deadly force before it is close to necessary. And yes, I do feel bad for this man's children and the loss of this man's life. Mocking human empathy is a strange debate tactic.

Like when they handcuffed the Cleveland kid's teenage sister, and then stood around, rather than administering first aid.

Like a few have hinted at in here already, if this is a justifiable shooting by LE professionals, then a homeowner shooting and intruder in the back in the heat of the moment should be able to get off easily. All the homeowner has to say is that the suspect appeared to have something in their hands as they we retreating.

Case closed, slam the gavel.

We played that assassin game when I was at UT. You know the one where you get someone's file and have to stalk them and then shoot them with a rubber dart gun, then you get their target and so one? I remember chasing my target out of the frat house as she ran screaming down the street while I chased her with my dart gun. If that happened to day, I would have been shot about 40 times.

Without question.

It's not a debate tactic.

I don't believe you give a damn about this guy or his family. Just an oppurtunity to ***** about cops.

The guy obviously shouldn't be breeding and creating children if he isn't any smarter than this.

Death penalty for stupidity? Obviously, he was doing something very stupid. No one is debating that. You refuse to get past that point. The question is, did he deserve to die for the stupidity of his actions?

I do not think so. I do not think someone could make a valid argument that death is what he deserved.
