Chuck Norris...

He is so awesome, he takes up all five spots.:ninja:

He will also deliver a roundhouse kick to the head of anyone caught "working like heck" or clapping after a bad play.

Any list without Parcells is just crazy. He would jump at the chance and I heard he visited Gatlinburg once. See he has TN ties.

Must be a championship caliber coach. Just because a guy can win 9 or 10 games at a lower tier school does not qualify. The Vols already do that. Also, must be a great recruiter or bring a great recruiter with him. Doesn't matter how great a coach is if he doesn't have the talent. It is paramount that the Tennessee program recruits very well due to the reduced amount of local talent.

Basically anybody that doesn't clap after a bad play.

I've seen several posters on here refer to this action as a bad thing. I don't see the clapping as an approval of what happened, but as a motivation to move past the last play or series of plays.

Fulmer will get in a guys face when he needs to, but not everytime a mistake is made. Coaching happens primarily during the week, not during the game - if you need to tell a guy he made a mistake or get down on a player during the game then you've done a bad coaching job during the week.

As a reference to another coach - I saw Stoops clapping as his team ran off the field several times, if not every time, last week. And they played like crap all day.

I don't see the clapping as a big issue - all coaches do it. They want their guys to know they have their support the next time they go on the field, that's all.

love him while you got him pal. the countdown is on.

I have little belief that Fulmer will be on the sidelines next year - and frankly, based on current performance he shouldn't be.

I was only pointing out to the other poster a coach that doesn't clap is an empty wish, they all do it for good reasons.

the clapping lends itself to caricature, which is probably not mean spirited. the fact that people talk about the hand clapping and "working like heck" statements just shows that they are paying attention.

This is just a thought, but according to Hamilton, he expects the football team to play for the SEC championship 4 years out of every 10 and to win 2 of them. So I guess he is happy with CPFto a certain extent, because IF we were to play for the SEC championship this season, that would make it 5 trips since 1997, and we did finish first in '97 and '98, so there are the 2 wins....
