Not shockingly . . . That's not what the article says.

yes, he didn't say it exactly but Hamilton said he mentioned to Fulmer and talked to him a/b switching QB's.

It was just Hamilton acknowledging the PR situation. If anything, that article should be a comfort since it lets you know that Hamilton realizes how bad things have gotten.

The objective was to sell the tickets by giving the masses hope by changing qb's. Sad that the AD's primary concern is economics.

Bottom line: Don't go to the games and try to talk other folks out of going. Also, I believe the boos are being heard with more effect than one thinks.

"Hamilton told Fulmer.............<!-- google_ad_section_end --> "

Hambone did no such thing. In fact, he can't.

Hamilton is not technically PF's boss. That role goes to the President of the University and the Athletics BoD.

I meant that his primary reason for suggesting the change was more about selling tickets than seeing better results on the football field.

UMMM....economics is supposed to be one of an AD's primary concerns.

That is his job. To put people, happy people in the seats.
If you think Hamilton did not want a change, why the announcement in the paper. Can you imagine the attendance had the announcement been that JC would start?:jawdrop:

Exactly . . . This was just Hamilton making sure the PR of the change was handled correctly.

Interestingly, every TV game yesterday had the home team getting booed at one point or another.

This is actually good news for people looking for a change. The pressure is building on Fulmer. It even sounds like his "buddy" Hamilton is feeling a little of it.

That being said I hope this doesn't turn into another Johnny Majors deal. There is a way were this could be good for all involved if it's handled correctly. I think alot is up to Fulmer.

Well, think of it this way. Many people posting on this board bemoan the 'fact' that the average fan doesn't have an influence over the program.

This shows that empty seats and vocal criticism can result in changes on the field.

I personally don't believe that Bunk from Fulmer about Stephens suddenly practicing a whole lot better the past few weeks; and that was why Nick 'won' the job.

Crompton was Fulmer's 'guy'. I think Hamilton's talk along with severe criticism from the media & fanbase forced Phil's hand.

I think it's a good thing Hamilton wants to announce a change at quarterback to sell tickets. He has to be feeling pressure to sell tickets, so maybe he'll change coaches to sell tickets next year. This is still early in the year, can you imagine the pressure he's going to feel if we go 5-7 or 6-6.
