Hamilton stands tall in Kiffin's corner

Great to hear,,,, just as I suspected the AD is very pleased with the progress and rebuilding Kiffin has done to date.
From the work ethic of the coaching staff to the increased productivity of the admin staff, to the S and C of the team, the program is on an uptick.

Anyone who has really been paying attention to this program (and not just reading all the petty articles from around the country) already knows all this.

But it sure is nice to hear Hamilton say it!!

Hamilton knows all this anti-kiffin stuff was created by the media or kiffin haters at florida and alabama. It's no big deal. Any publicity is good publicity!

Thats a great article, there is a lot similarities between CLK and Coach Pearl when he was first hired.

The proof is in the pudding...and in this case the pudding is the ban on earings, ipods, ect...at the field house.

So clearly, Hamilton thinks that we were not tough before Kiffin got here. Shouldn't have taken him this long to notice how lax Fulmer was

I keep trying to tell myself the same thing, but I'm not sure it's true. The football team has been an elite program, the basketball team has not. The basketball team had gone through a number of coaches during fcpf's tenure. The basketball team was hurting for local and national media attention, the football team not so much. I think that the brashness of Pearl was an important part of the bb teams resurgance (and winning helped a ton), I'm not sure that Kiffin needed to do the same.

Of course Hamilton is going to have his back 3 months after he hired him, its his ass on the line as well and if he turns on his own hire after 3 months then that could be the dagger for him .

All true but what has CLK done to even make the AD turn on his own? He seems to be the hardest working Son of a gun on the planet. I can see this same work ethic during season with superior game planning. I don't think Uncle Phil left the cupboard bare at all and what he has will do great.
We have much better coaches now. I don't know much about CLT, but the OC, the DC, the DLC, the RBC and the HC all look to be masters at what they do.

...and though I'm sure he'd prefer a tad bit less controversy, as an AD, he's got to be loving all the free publicity being showered on UT. Between Summit, Pearl and now Kiffin UT is in the publicity mix a lot.

While I agree with some of your points I don't share your view that the football program was still elite. I think it had slipped a couple of notches from elite back in 2005 and never fully recovered. Unbelievably fan apathy had obviously set in and the program and fan base were in a funk and we were just not as much of a factor to recruits as GA, LSU, FL, AL and other elite D1 programs.

I think this program needed a serious jolt and Kiffin and this staff is providing it.

I like the comment about discipline. This program has been lacking that in recent years.
"Discipline is an issue in any program," Hamilton said. "If you have discipline off the field, you have discipline on the field.

"I wanted to make sure that was a priority for a coach.

Hamilton does what Kiffin tells him---Lane K makes a lot more money and has a lot more power than a paper shuffler like the AD.
