Hamilton Meeting w/ Mystery Candidate

Cut will not boost thid program to what it was in the 90's, he will keep it where its at now. Tennessee needs to make a big hire, if not we will keep traveling on the same road were on! I will ALWAYS love UT, but I will be highly disappointed if Cut is hired, if he is hired and does well, I will be the first to eat my crow and say I was wrong, but I just DO NOT see him pumping life into this program!

Even though Basilo was way off yesterday he says that the UT Plane is on it's way to Chicago [Lovie Smith] - 4 Million per year, 7 years

Update: another Source confirmed this at 9:10

every post like this conveniently skips over the ole miss years.

Let me add the Ole Miss years for ya ....

5 winning season capped off by a 10-3 and tie for the SEC west.

a massive graduation , frosh OLine and QB . 4-7

fired because he refused to fire his coordinators ....refused to fire them because he had a frosh QB and O line

This was not the Ol miss of today ...5 winning season and a 10-3 with a Cotton Bowl appearance was a pinnacle. What is your critique ?

Stoops, Dungy, Gruden, Cower....some of you need to back up from the bong. This is not going well for you. At this point, I think much of our 'perspective coach' list include a few ball boys from real college programs and high school coaches.
Interesting question....we are getting rejected by some s%!ty coaches...Is Hamilton making them aware of 'possible' problems (infractions) that might be coming down the road, if they take the job? There has to be something else putting off these guys..money does not seem to be the problem.

Lovie Smith would probably save the recruiting class, not sure about him over the long term. The Bears have not impressed me under his tenure, and he's basically leaving because he'll get fired next year. Of course, Saban was no great shakes in the NFL either.

I could agree with that.

Bringing on Lovie would bring some excitement, energy and hope... Cutcliffe not so much IMO.

Well just checked Lovie's wikipedia page and this caught my eye;

On January 14, 2010, Smith resigned as head football coach of the Chicago Bears and accepted the head coaching position at the University of Tennessee. Smith replaces Lane Kiffin, who unceremoniously left the Tennessee program after 14 months as the Volunteer head coach. Smith becomes the first African-American coach in the history of the University of Tennessee.

Huge Bear fan here. Lovie could be just the polarizing figure TN needs right now. Alot of people knocking his Chicago tenure, but he's done alot more than most could with the crap QB's he's had to work with. Chicago fell in love with the guy and our recruits would too. Please let this one rumor be the one true one.

Anyone got some Dramamine? This roller coaster ride is about to get to me.

lovie.... if true.... would be if nothing else an interesting hire with potential. we dont know how he would translate to the college game but i say if we really arent getting much out of the search in college lovie would be much better than settling for cutcliffe. we know defense wouldnt be the problem and he would just need to hire some good assistants on offense and a recruiter. otherwise his name would have players interested. doesnt hurt that dungy's a good friend and advisor to him as well

If you are a Bears fan I'm sure you have been following along better than I have. I hope you're right if we hire him.

there's no chance in he11 of getting Stoops. let's get real

Kid, you're exactly right - we're not in the same league as Stoops and that's what Hamilton is discovering when he out there trolling the market. Otherwise, why would all these coaches be having a press conference to say they're staying where they are.

In addition, why should we want Gruden? He's been out of work, what 2-3 years now, and with as many sorry HCs in the NFL, if he was worth anything, he would be employed.

Breaking news............................. This just in.....toucan sam is the new ut head coach....defensive coord is going to be capn crunch and the offensive coord is rumored to be a pickle
