Halftime show!

The food delivery robot is a really cool thing, and they tried to include it in the show. I have been told that it worked perfectly in rehearsals. Oh well - it's a machine, and sometimes they fail.

The halftime show was great, and the camera videos didn't capture it at all - mine included. They accounted for the low-light and made it seem much brighter than it really was. It was pretty cool. Also, as they completed the squares around each letter on the field, they lit up the letters on the stadium. A very cool way to welcome them back if you ask me.

The Blue Light Special on Aisle 4 is more dramatic and exciting than our light show.

I get your perspective.... I am going to suggest that you may not have any idea how much co-ordination and automation is required to make those lights create the large spot lights. Then, you are fluidly moving all those lights in harmony programmatically in order for the spotlights to move and keep their shape and you are change the travel path and still keeping them 'in shape' from how many different light vector locations.

Now, I will grant that it was not a graphics light show display on a single flat background, (like I saw at the Ohio Star Theater - I am absolutely certain the stage flat panel was over a million dollars without any programming) nor was it holographic quality display. But let's allow for some walking and innovation. I'd call it cool, but not awe inspiring. And I do have a grasp of the automation and motion industries thanks to an international company who has been a good employer for the last 20+ years.

Side note, If you live near Sugar Creek, Ohio ... and are looking for something to do ... give Josiah for President a shot (and you get to see their light board for free!)
My daughter is in the cast. She is sweet as spice, but plays the villain in this work.
She is a lyric coloratura soprano who will be finishing up her current roles and looking for her next gig in January.

Sitting in ZZ really had a hard time hearing the band. It might have been impressive if you could have coordinated the music with the lights.

We moved from X1 to X3, and up about 20 rows. I didn't know if it was just the new spot or if the sound wasn't working right.

The Pride puts on some exceptional shows. That was not one of them.

Circle drill and the bagpipes bring chill bumps.

I think people are less than impressed because this was overhyped. On local news talking about something that has never been done before and at least from clips, there wasn't much of a "wow" factor.

Have to say, I was there and it was a bit of a let down. Too much hype and didn’t meet expectations.
Started when the “robot” crapped out and failed the band. Those who were there know what I’m talking about.
The best part was the ceremonial lighting of the VOLS.

I talked to Dr. Stewart Friday morning & the young lady unfortunately broke her leg.

That was a wonderful halftime show & kudos to our new director Dr. Stewart and all the new music & etc.
That happened near us. I was in section S. It seemed to take a while to get a stretcher to her.

Notice how they "walked/limped" her around the end zone instead of across? And yes it took a while to get the stretcher which they didn't put her on. I sure wish her the best, Dr. Stewart said she was a trooper and doing well..

Dang! I hate that. We are in X3, so we saw the stretcher head down the sideline and could not believe how long it to actually get to her.

Thanks for the update Peach!

'Here, here' for the Pride of the Southland Marching Band and for Dr. Stewart!

Volspeach, do you have any idea what happened for her to have broken her leg? The first I saw was her laying on the field.

We were also in ZZ and didnt experience that as a provlem. It would have louder on the other side but had no issue hearing them.

I mean it’s just a first show. They’ll get better just like the Vols . Goodness.
