I'd like to get you guys input on the actual gameplan and what the coaches will do at halftime to adjust. With that here are a couple of points.

1. I think FLA will pack the box on us early because of Cromptons play last week (who wouldnt). So how do we adjust to that if they stifle the run.

2. If the offense is stagnant by halftime just like last week, last year, etc. Does Kiffin even think about trying Stephens? Having the anxiety attack prone Crompton off the field seems like it would have a slightly positive impact. Although i dont think Stephens has the same tools physically a mentally stable presence could help.

3. How does our defense attack the Florida O? Blitz heavy? Stop the run and depend on our secondary to play man?

4. Finally what is the offensive gameplan as a whole? Weather seems to be a looming factor, but it also seems that without a passing threat we'll be in trouble.....

Ready..... REPLY!!!!!

I don't understand why no one thinks Stephens has the physical tools. His arm looks fine to me (in fact TV commentators have stated he has a rocket arm), he has the height, and he's added plenty of muscle to take hits. Where is he deficient?

That wasn't my point. I was talking about physical tools. Besides, I don't think we've seen enough to make the determination that he will play poorly. He didn't light it up last year, but none of the quarterbacks did in that offense. I'm not saying he's better than Crompton, that's for the coaches to decide. But for all we know, he may be productive in this offense.

I think the bottomline is that this coaching staff thinks that they know that he won't be productive in this offense, or he would be playing. I, too, wish we could see Stephens, but I trust their judgment.

The offensive approach will be to try and establish the run. That's obvious. I think in order to do that we will need to run some draws, slip screens, quick slants etc to slow down their uphill rush. We need this to keep their linebackers from soley commiting to the line of scrimmage in run support. If we do that, then we could start running some draws, and then we should be able to start mixing in the running game.

I don't see us taking too many shots downfield, at least not early. With 7-8-9 in the box, they will try to rattle Crompton early. In the beginning anything more than a 3 step drop spells disaster. I also don't see us getting to the edge very often. They just have too much speed for that.
