I gotta disagree. This isn't on the coaches. We have no speed on defense and, with a few exceptions, we have horrible talent. Offense wise we've scored 20. That's pretty dang good in a half with a freshman QBThis isn't a lack of speed and talent, but a coaching failure up and down the line. No discipline, terrible effort and lack of technique. We can't even slow them down on offense or move our own. Forget 1/2 time adjustments. If they can't adjust from game to game or during a 1/2, there'll likely be no locker room miracles. This should not have been the wood-shedding it's shaping up to be.
Only so much the coaches can do with our slow defense. Sutton is the only one with speed. Wonder if we could suite up a couple of recruits in the stands.
This coming from a 15 Year old? Good Grief what game did you see us make those great halftime Adjustments in? This team has played crappy football all season other than the Georgia and SC game!
But they are _regressing_. This isn't a speed issue. It's being caught out of position, poor tackling and containment technique, pee-wee league effort. This is a failure of the staff to hold onto any gains perceived in GA/SC games. We are worse in almost every phase.
We need to learn how to set and contain corners and secure some speed during halftime. Maybe dial up some JUCO players to help us out. Otherwise, we're going to need some injuries to AU skill players. The way it's going, we'll give Marshall a record-setting day.
I don't think our talent would win in pee wee either.. I just think everyone needs to calm down. Yes we have a long way to go but we are playing a top 10 team........again. Hopefully we can recruit our way out of this hole.
