Guys, this is bad...

Your first statement makes you look like an idiot. Pruitt may or may not become a good HC but he is a world class DC. To say anything else is just your mangina speaking.
Are you watching the same game I am? Did Vanderbilt out recruit us over the past 4 years on the defensive side? The only world class DC I see right now is on the Vanderbilt side.

He's always had top notch talent at every stop. He doesn't have that here and what has he done? I firmly believe we have better players than vandy and how's that going for us? If your looking for an idiot, find a mirror.

I've grown weary of everyone blaming everything on Butch. this team has more talent than they have shown. There is absolutely no reason to get hammered by Florida, Missouri and Vandy. I really think CJP has a lot to learn. In my view, this team has underachieved. Other than an upset of a struggling Auburn, what have we done that shows improvement?
Ok, where's the talent? OL? We have a center that's not that good. Flanking him are 2 undersized guards, and then you have the tackles...You can't make up two poor years of strength and conditioning in 7 or 8 months. This severely limits the offense. Smart teams can smother our WR at the line and take away the short passing game.

Let's go to the defense...DT can't get penetration, the DE are that good. Is Phillips a true 5-star? Linebackers are having trouble covering backs in the flat and our safetys are woefully bad...

Butch’s recruiting model called for more WR’s than linemen. Mahoney taught them ballet and matador technique. Skipping a full year of S&C. Those mistakes will take more than a year to overcome. I’m not convinced that Pruit is the guy. He’s shown some of the same stubborn streaks that Jones did instead of just learning from the mistakes he’s made in his first year as a head coach. He’s coming back next year no matter what anyone on this forum says, so th best option is get behind him and the team. If the team plays as poorly next year, then he will be on a short leash.

It’s embarrassing seeing us get abused by Vandy. Honestly, it is as much on the staff as the players right now. We can only hope they are able to turn the corner with the next recruiting class.

You can grow weary all you want but its fact. Lets take Kirby Smart at UGA as an example. What happened his first year? What kind of talent did Richt leave him? Butch left Pruitt with a bare cupboard. We have no depth on either line. Not only that, the depth we do have is undersized and not quality.

Improvement? How about beating a ranked SECW am on the road for the first time since 1998? Or beating a top 15 UK? Thats 2 conference wins. 2 more than last year. Is Butch the only one to blame? Absolutely not. Pruitt and the staff have blame as well.

Did they bring Butch back to coach this game?

Pathetic. They had a ton to play for and have just gone through the motions.

Pruitt just blew all of the Capital he earned earlier in the season.

Team fought hard after half in 3rd quarter. But QB is was off, is not even close to being a dual threat. O line stinks, and Offense playcalling, the highest paid assistant coach Helton is not calling good plays. D played ok at times, but corners got beat all night. Why do I spend my time on this?

Why waste a time out to decide whether or not to go for two? not that it matters in this game but don't you already have that decision made before you score?

I agree to some extent but after a while it's on the players to have some pride in themselves and not need to
look to someone else to motivate them. If not wanting to be embarrassed by your in state rival, getting to play in a
bowl game and not finishing the regular season with a losing record isn't enough then I don't know what is.

I have to agree with you here. You don't get steamrolled by Vandy unless you want to. It's easier to blame coaching for not having them ready, but these guys have played enough football to not need to be coached up to compete with Vanderbilt. This is 99% players DGAF . There may be reasons "why" that involve a loss of interest or faith because of a toxic environment, but their performance today is on them.

So you think Vandy talent is better? They were ready to play and their OC took our defensive coaches to school. We were, like last week, not ready.

That is true and I think you are right that he is having a time trying to make chicken salad out of chicken (well, you know). He is not used to that. He is used to having people who can play his schemes but seriously, our guys simply cant tackle. I have to imagine he has coached that quite a bit. Also, to be fair, the reason in part for that great talent is that he was great at getting talent at his former stops. Will he be able to do that here? dont know but we are about to find out very soon.

The state of our football program is making it challenging to get my son to enjoy football. He doesn’t want to watch because, “Tennessee never wins!” I only wanted to watch football on Saturdays when I was his age.
