He was stressed as hell. I felt bad for him. I know he has it comin but DAMN! We have Auburn next:eek:lol: I will miss him.! YES I mean it, he has been apart of the Vols for so long and is the face of the program and even though he will most likely be gone soon I feel like a traitor for wanting him gone. GO VOLS!

I think it would be nice for him to have some place in UT Athletics after his coaching days

He honestly looked like he was a man that knew he was backed into his last corner and had nothing left.

I don't feel the least bit sorry for Fulmer. He's been grossly overpaid for years to run this program into the ground.

I don't think his job is really in trouble. Not yet. I think he'd have to lose to Aub, Ga, and Alabama and a couple more. A losing season with losses to the other 3 big SEC matchups.

Anything less than that and he'll trot out some excuses about adjusting to a new offense. At worst he might be forced to make a change on the defensive staff somewhere.

But his job? Still got losses to Aub, Ga, and Bama to go for starters. I just don't think things will get that bad.

I think we'll lose all three, to be completley up front.

if we're 7-5 this year, I think he's in serious trouble

At 7-5 I can see him getting by with some hardcore pleading and excuses making. Possibly the defensive staff option as well.

But I guarantee he's going to lobby that adjusting to the the new offensive staff was the problem and that it will be better next year.

Not to mention pulling a Monica Lewinsky-Bill Clinton on Mike Hamilton.

I think USCe may be a bit of a toss up as to who wins but I think Vandy beats us. We should beat MSU and UK combined with UAB, NIU, and Wyoming. 5-6 wins at best. I don't know if its enough to get Fulmer the boot but it might be enough to give Chavis the boot, and I'm not sure Fulmer would let Chavis leave without him.

We will see, but I do really hope they give Fulmer a position in the program. We still owe him for that NC...barely.

it would be nice, but the fans treatment the last few years wont let it work out too well.

Honestly, i think he just wants to have a little more success so he can end on a high note and his legacy be as a good coaching career for the school, not the guy UT fans wanted gone. I think if he had one good season, maybe just finally won an sec championship, he would retire. I think he just wants to go out with the fans and program liking him....

I think we owe Al Wilson a position on the staff for the very same reason... if not more.

Honestly... with the way 2007 ended that might have been his best shot. If he thinks he can coach up a less-talented team to be competitive with the likes of UF and UGA in the SECE and then beat out a AUB, LSU or Bama team he's crazy.

Well not that the speech he gave before the UF game worked per say, but apparently it was a good one.

If the guy loses his job tomorrow, he will still never have to worry about having enough money the rest of his life. It's kind of hard to feel sorry for him. I had a presentation to one of our VP's last week. If I had performed like the Vols did Saturday, I would be gone. Quite frankly, my current bosses do not care how I performed 10 years ago. Your only as good/bad as your last performance. That's the way the world is...

the problem then was though that even though it was a pretty good year, we were still complaining and he would have gone down as the coach who "often couldnt cut it and caused us to lose in an sec championship game" as far as the fans' views went

Because inevitably it would be "back to the same"... which it is.

Fulmer would look like a total tool if he 'scapegoated' Chavis, when the defense is the only unit that isn't a complete embarrassment.

At least Randy Sanders had it coming, to a large extent.

BTW, insomnia induced by a humiliating loss sucks!
