gut check

Our team cannot even do the basics well like "tackle". We cannot tackle a pillow.
Might take more than one year of legitimate SEC quality S&C to improve some of the physical things.
I saw # 22 get blown back 7 yards tonight by one Vandy player.
Abernathy is a 200 lb safety... Blaisingame is a 230 lb RB who had a head of steam.
Exactly what are these players taught in practice. Nothing.
Fire Pruitt now and we will be ahead. Don`t wait 2 or 3 more years.
The team and coaches are like a big pile of vomit.
They may stink. I really don't know or think we can know... because they're following the worst UT HC of my lifetime. The talent he left was overrated. The "development" to a large degree had to be undone.

I can't remember where you were on Jones... but if Jones came anywhere close to deserving anything after his 1st year... Pruitt does.

Yeah, and I am sure that a Jon Gruden would come banging on our door begging to become our Head Coach. How stupid can some of these fans be? After Currie and Haslam screwed the pooch on the coaching search, even middle of the pack and recently terminated coaches were telling us "Thanks, but no thanks." Gundy turned down a chance at a huge pay day to stay at Oklahoma State for just a slight increase in his salary there.

Pruitt was left a broken down Mustang by Butch Jones, and it's going to take at least two years for him to get the right parts to fix this Mustang up and get it running again. He needs to get his own guys in and get most of the Butch guys out of this program. He needs more time. And if Fulmer did fire Pruitt on Monday, who the hell do you think that he would be able to get to replace him?

After last year's fiasco, you guys would be lucky to have a middle school cheerleader coach if you fire Pruitt. Get used to seeing him at your sideline for maybe 4-5 years.
This all day. You do not fire a coach who took over a 4-8 team because he did not get to 6+ wins his first season.

Now, I am not confident in any of the members of this coaching staff, but they really have to have all their players here before you can determine their abilities. That is why a coaching search is a 4-year process.

Can anyone deny our tackling is at or worse than it was at the beginning of the year, have we seen improved play at any position for that matter?
I know over reacting is not a great look but the forum is to express and discuss Tennessee football at the posters discretion and via his or her thoughts on the current state of our vols.... I’m sure a large majority of fans are not thrilled with the terrible finish we showed, a few million a year says our coach should answer for that without half-assed, blank-faced comments.

I sure hope that Pruitt recruits kids who already know how to tackle. Pass on the ones that need to be taught that

Why? What’s acceptable improvement from this horrendous season? Just curious.

Improvement is acceptable improvement. You want to see the team climb while recruits are brought in and the strength and conditioning program stays consistent and gets our guys to size. Placing the mark at nine wins is unrealistic and setting yourself up for failure. This is the SEC. This is the premiere conference in America. You don't just go from five to nine wins.

By year three, you should have a pretty good idea if Pruitt is the guy.

Really? I figured this was coming

Yea, losing brings out the “fire the coach” crowd...the reality is that we have him at least 3 more years. I hope he can turn things around but it’s definitly not going to be@ quick fix...
