Our QB roster will be fine when Ferguson and Dobbs arrive.

If he wer a DT, pass rushing DE, big, fast, brutal hitting LB or even a top power RB, then you would have a valid point.

IMO, for QB now, your argument does not hold water.

None of our 4 QBs have shown any standout ability on gameday. 3 have zero college game experience. I know he does not have any as well but you do not pass on a physical skillset like Kiel's if he shows interest. It holds all the water in the world. And as another posted pointed out, what if someone transfers and we have a flop. In this battle back to relevance you take any ammunition to war you can grab. We also havent signed a full class in two years so we must have room? Not possitive on that one. Just my opinion on your opinion thats all.

He is a take IF the following HS QBs turn us down:
Cornwell
Doss
Penny Smith
Kizer
Barden
Edouard
Insert name of any current HS QB with a VN thread here...choose one

Charlie High would have to quit UT football before I would offer :)

(BTW, I hope CH comes in and tears it up...good underdog story gets better airtime that "Kiel to transfer from Tennessee")
There is no way that Penny Smith is a D1 QB, I watched Fulton play state and Penny Smith is in no way a D1 qb.

Would prefer a pick from the hat guess at a hs qb rather than this guy. Has he proven anything at all at the collegiate level? Would take Dyer in a heartbeat if the option was Dyer or Kiel.

Let him prove himself somewhere else. We have no need for his apparent kind of drama. We have 4 level-headed QBs by Fall 2013.

Risk reward ratio is skewed highly into the risk with potential disaster and iffy reward. I do not bash the UT players, but they have been through enough coaching/player drama already. Been there, done that. Lets try team unity and winning for a while...drama free if possible. :hi:

So you would take a kid that has been kicked out of two colleges for whatever reasons for a 5* QB prospect that hasn't played a down or been in trouble?? That is f**** ridiculous!!!

We have the room. If he wants to come, let him come on. Dobbs and Ferguson are just as unproven. The competition may be good for all of them.

The only question is can he run CBJ's offense? If so, bring him on. He left ND for a reason. If he is afraid of competition, he will not choose UT anyway.

Funny how any time a former recruit that didn't commit to us ends up transferring someone makes a thread along the lines of "Do you think we have a chance for him?" or "Should we take him?"

Just an observation.

Buncha amateurs!

Hey so everybody knows I have a 4 day weekend and it's only 455 miles to there from where I am. To make a long story short I would give my all for Tennessee and drive the 900 round trip just to get the kid to Tennessee GO VOLS lol

Did not say I would take Dyer...but if you take a chance make it a position of greater need. JMO

Really do not want either. :)

What is the risk if he sits the bench because he didn't pan out?

If we were to add Kiel we would actually be going into spring practice next year with more scholarship QB's than scholarship lb's (unless we brought in a couple of EE linebackers this year)

Also need a few more big time O-linemen in this next class since there will be 5 openings after the season if Tiny goes early. The scholly will be put to good use.

You would take an unproven QB over a proven 5* stud RB? We don't really need a QB. We desperately need a stud RB and Dyer is that.

You talk about Dobbs and Ferguson are unproven, well so is Kiel. Just because he is a 5* QB doesn't mean jack. Johnny football was a 3*. Dyer IS PROVEN to be a success in the SEC and behind our OL he would shine.

Fact is Dyer fills an immediate need and Kiel doesn't.

If you watched Fulton play the state game you would have seen that Penny scored the touchdown that put the team in the lead. He was the MVP of the game and if he wouldn't have played Fulton wouldn't have won the state championship game. If he's not a D1 player, NOBODY on the team is. The 2014 class has the most D1 talent and size of any other class currently in Fulton. The 2015 class may have 2 athletes, but from what I hear those 2 have terrible grades. The Penny kid may not be a D1 QB for UT, but from what I see, he is an athlete who can play several positions he is the best safety on the team Fulton just wont play him both ways. He has size, speed, and athleticism. I've also been told he is a work horse off the field when the stadium is empty.
