Reality check.
Stop calling this a dumpster fire. A dumpster fire is over in 15 minutes. For a football program, in terms of destruction, this is comparable to Shermans March to the Sea, burning and destroying everything in his path. This WILL take years to rebuild.
Stop spreading ridiculous rumors that we are offering coaches a minimum of $8M/year. We look even more desperate, if thats possible. Schiano was offered $4.5M, Gundy was offered $6M.
Stop calling for the return of Lane Kiffin. He spit in our face once already. Im betting, he is and should be, dead last on the list.
We have serious issues that have scared away top tier coaches BEFORE the Schiano incident. NOW? Coaching candidates are leery of our adminstrarion , our boosters, and now, our students, thats the whole enchilada. Successful, big program, top tier coaches are NOT an option.
Lou Holtz (among others) once said, if you find yourself in a hole, the first thing you need to do is stop digging. Food for thought.
Tee Martin Jason Candle, Jeremy Pruitt, Chad Morris, and a host of others, thats the level we need to explore, and quickly.
I wish him well, but pray Jon Grudens name is never again mentioned in reference to our program.
Find a promising, young, hungry coach SOON and start to rebuild.
