Gun control debate (merged)

Just the way Georgie and Tommy J drew it up. Every other civilized country just drools over this "freedom" America enjoys.

at what point does “there is a guy with an AR15 walking towards kids at a bus stop” become a situation where someone takes matters into their own hands?

Cops: he’s got a gun, bang bang bang, oh wait it was his cell phone I thought he was pointing it at me

Also cops: guy clearly carrying an AR near groups of kids, a known target for psychotic whackos, seems ok to me he’s peacefully protesting alone with no signs or apparent message

You are the guys pushing the gun laws. Seems like you should know the reasoning behind the difference in how the law sees OPEN carry vs CONCEALED carry.

Also you are highlighting one of our points with the government shooting unarmed civilians. You have a problem with it, right up to the point to where we actually fix it. The government isnt infallible, and they shouldnt be allowed to just run rampant until they stop themselves.

This guy is Exhibit A for a gun nut pansy with low self esteem.
What a tool.
So low self esteem he has to attack someone he knows nothing about on the internet for doing nothing wrong? Oh wait that's you.

I just dont get how you guys can turn off the irrational fear of guns because the cops you think have too much power have them.

Yes, low self esteem along with being a triggered snowflake. This guy is upset about a law so he decides the best course of action is to strap on an AR and hang around a kids bus drop off area. I don't need to know anything more than that, neither should you.

I'm not necessarily a fan of the way this guy is going about his protest, but I can't see the connection with low self-esteem?

You know he’s not a looney lib…..he has a firearm and hasn’t shot anyone.

From mediaite . com:
Taylor (journalist) spoke with the armed man, J’Den McAdory.

“I really wasn’t coming out here for the kids,” McAdory said. “I was coming out here to show people that this is legal.”

“For parents who might ask, ‘Just because you can do this, does that mean that you should do this?'” Taylor asked.

“No, it does not mean that,” he replied. “But I think that if I do this enough, that it will create enough deterrence from crime in the area.”

McAdory told Taylor that on Thursday, he came to an agreement with school district officials and he will no longer protest during school pickup or drop off times.

unpossible. this was clearly some unhinged gun nut out there to shoot up kids and convert them to cult of AR-15

better than burning down local businesses when you are angry at the government.

He peacefully assembled in a public area. and he was able to do so in a way that got media attention without doing anything extreme, or calling specific attention to the event with threats.

and he is clearly illustrating, despite what the media and president want YOU to believe, that it is possible to have an AR-15 out in public peacefully without causing any issues. and considering he was even willing to work with the school and concerned parents I don't see how you are able to assume this is a self esteem issue.

This is my opinion. We've certainly seen both sides do extreme and illegal protesting. Seems this guy hit a good balance between staying legal and making a statement that gets coverage.

You know you've lost the argument when your default response is but, but, but..........BLM.

It's actually very relevant. I would suspect you respond with something like this because you know BLM was a destructive and a sham of a movement. And I'm not talking about some of the legitimate grievances BLM was underpinned by...I'm talking about the way they went about exercising protest of those grievances. The comparison is most certainly apt in this case.

Want to make a statement for your cause and get coverage for it while staying within legal 1st amendment guidelines? This guy did exactly that without the anarchy and Tom foolery.

Guns also deter a lot of crime.

From a previous post:
I thought about the numbers shared from the Real Clear Investigations article a bit more last night. And now that Sugar posted the news bias chart showing RCI has a middle of the road approach, I want to share.

At 2 million defensive gun uses per year, there are slightly less than 5,500 DGUs every day. At 95% of DGUs consisting of simply showing the weapon to the other person(s), there are about 5,200 of those events on average every day.

My thought: If 1% of those moments where DGUs are currently used were to change where the attacker killed the person, 54 people would die everyday. That is almost 20,000 people per year.
Three DGUs in my family alone. Mother was a realtor, got stopped on a rural bridge by a couple guys loitering in a group of four. Placed her pistol on the dash and they cleared a path.

Another time a duo pulled into our rural drive and a man went around back. Mother went to the rear porch and asked can I help you. Asked again as the guy walked toward her not saying anything. She put the pistol in his face from about 20’. He stopped advancing and stood there staring with a sneer for several seconds before leaving. Probably a good thing I wasn’t home to help with his threatening behavior.

Anybody remember when Consitutional carry was going to lead to a dramatic uptick in killings as all us rednecks went all wild west on all the minorities?

How's that little bit of fear mongering working out for the Anti-2A?
You just ain’t shooting your fair share.
“Found the weak link, fellers!”
