Gun control debate (merged)

I did in my post you replied to. It’s in quotes at the end.
Oh, I see it now. That's not a bad guess. My answer would be something more along the lines of "what we have now plus 13 million more next year. With that increase per year going down each year for a few years."

You never answered my question, but that's okay.

That’s a different question. But it is what I based my assumption off of. 😉

I really wonder how you can think that.

They knew taking up arms could lead to them losing everything, being wounded, dead, or something worse. they knew the armed conflict could destroy their state, they lived through it. They saw their weapons as key to overthrowing a tyrannical government. Even when Washington faced armed Revolutions they did nothing to restrict arms.

plenty of people died back then due to shootings. didn't change their language in the 2A. they knew of multishot/semi-auto/auto weapons.

they knew the dangers and potentials of citizens owning weapons, and it did not dissuade them.
What did Jefferson say about Freedom again?

I was being sincere.
It struck me as funny.
But I don't know, what he did he say?
This???
"it is the great parent of science & of virtue: and that a nation will be great in both, always in proportion as it is free." "our liberty depends on the freedom of the press, and that cannot be limited without being lost."

Malo periculosam, libertatem quam quietam servitutem.

We can discuss it tomorrow. I’m old and tired, and must go To bed.

"No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms."
- Thomas Jefferson,

"I prefer dangerous freedom over peaceful slavery."
- Thomas Jefferson

"What country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance. Let them take arms."
- Thomas Jefferson,

"The Constitution of most of our states (and of the United States) assert that all power is inherent in the people; that they may exercise it by themselves; that it is their right and duty to be at all times armed."
- Thomas Jefferson

It's more that my ilk lives in a world that is not black and white.

Your ilk has a phobic aversion to shades of gray.

There is no gray despite the BS that your AEP propaganda “charity” promotes.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

It’s idiocy to suggest that this means a STATE is the same as PEOPLE with the right to keep and bear arms. “People” and “a free State” are both in that sentence - obviously they are not one and the same.
