The TN Constitution seems pretty straightforward, I dont see how red flag laws are Constitutional...

That the citizens of this state have a right to keep and to bear arms for their common defense; but the Legislature shall have power, by law, to regulate the wearing of arms with a view to prevent crime.

I've had two first cousins killed by firearms. One a shooting accident and the other was murdered in a murder/suicide situation. Have had a nephew and son both threatened with guns to their heads (I'd like to answer the question, Pat, it is so easy) and still adhere to the 2A for the reason behind it.

More guns don't equal more gun violence? Really? We have far more guns than any other nation---and far, far, far, far more gun violence.

I especially laugh at the chestnut that all guns owners are "responsible." No, they are not. First, a lot of gun owners are paranoid--or else
why buy a gun in the first place? For fun? If guns are your big hobby, you ought to broaden your life. Many gun owners have personal/family
problems of one kind or another--as do many if not most Americans. And small problems can become big problems. This notion that because
someone is supposedly "responsible" today that he'll be responsible and stable in a week, month, two years...is nonsense. The Las Vegas
shooter would have been deemed "responsible" by the gun crowd a day before he opened fire with his arsenal on a concert crowd. There are
COUNTLESS unstable people in this country, which is precisely why Republicans have seriously endangered the American public with
their grotesque indifference to gun violence.

How about the Louisville mass shooter of yesterday? He had a graduate degree and worked for a bank. He was getting sacked and flipped his lid.
You think this sort of thing is an outlier? Happens every freakin' day--and yet conservatives/Republicans ignore this.

"He graduated from the University of Alabama in December 2020 with a bachelors and masters degree in finance, according to a spokesperson for the university. A former high school classmate who knew him and his family well said he never saw any “sort of red flag or signal that this could ever happen.”
“He was a really good kid who came from a really good family,” said the classmate, who asked not to be identified and has not spoken with Sturgeon in recent years. “I can’t even say how much this doesn’t make sense. I can’t believe it.” (Must be the Alabama connection--yes!)

The vast majority of "gun violence" is either suicide or gang related. Black men are a highly disproportionate part of gun violence stats, double that of white males (not taking into account black males only make up 7 or 8% of the pop) . Gun deaths due to homicide, black males, only 15% is suicide and the rest is largely homicide. White males, almost 80% suicide and 20% homicide.

If you really wanted to stop gun homicides, deal with those that are the biggest part of the problem. Or is that not politically correct?
