Gun control debate (merged)

By the numbers: Nearly two-thirds of the 4,368 U.S. children up to age 19 who were killed by guns in 2020 were homicide victims, per the CDC. Motor vehicle crashes, formerly the leading cause of death for kids one and older, killed nearly 4,000 children.

Another 30% of firearm-related child fatalities were suicides, 3% were accidental and 2% were of undetermined intent.
Male youths were significantly more likely to be killed by guns, while vehicle crashes claimed more females.
There were also stark racial disparities. The firearm death rate for Black children was more than four times that of white children, and white children were still more likely to be killed by motor vehicles than guns.
D.C. had the highest firearm death rate,

All of that is an excellent argument for more people having access to more guns. I congratulate you.

My whole argument is that you hide your head in the sand except for the agenda you like push . Just like you have done with the mentally stable President you voted for that’s trying his best to take away our constitutional rights . Without looking I’ll bet alcohol related deaths are close to or more than gun related deaths .. when was the last time you supported reducing alcohol production/ producers ? Cherry picking never works

They’ll just propose a tax that never does anything they say it will. People still pay $9 for a pack of Newport’s. After the shooting in California (one of them) they’re already talking about raising the age to buy an “assault” rifle to 21 even though a pistol was used and the shooter was 67. Look at how they’ve flip flopped on the pistol brace for the past 10 years. The government is inept in actually fixing anything.

I don't disagree but there are a lot of places (states) that would try and convict this guy because he shot him in the back fleeing. The finisher shot wasn't necessary IMO.
Read up on the Miami FBI shooting years ago. One the perps killed two FBI agents after receiving a mortal wound.

Nope. I do not know what I would do in that circumstance, but would not recommend a perp find out. I have put down too many animals hunting or had to on a farm to be much concerned with someone who threatened me.

What’s the leading cause of death in children (14 and under)?

Glad to see the cognitive dissonance, I mean “political”, forum is still cranking out gems daily.
From the WHO:

Injuries (including road traffic injuries and drowning) are the leading causes of death among older children and young adolescents. In fact, injuries rank among the top causes of death and lifelong disability among those aged 5–14 years.

If I remember correctly, he walked up and kicked the gun away. I'm sure your experience with hunting makes you an expert in killing people walking away from you. I don't know what I would have done in his position. I can't say that shooting all the deer that I have and killing hogs and such would prepare me to take a life.

Apparently you have trouble reading for comprehension, because I specifically stated “I don’t know what I would have done…”.
I mentioned the hunting because it seems those with a background of taking game or doing things like knock hogs in the head with a hammer, etc, better prepares one for the possibility of taking a life. No one knows until they have to, and I also lack military training which is why I am always careful to qualify that I don’t know what I’d do In a given situation I have not been in before. Probably most do not.

That you would equate the two speaks volumes.

It's so much better when a sitting President threatens military force (yet again) against the civilian population.

That's a way better reason to be armed...

That F-15 needs a pilot after all.
